Need your help and advice...Please

Hi,

I purchased a laser treatment about a week ago, and it was a package that consisted of 6 treatments that I prepaid for because the price was only good for that day. The contract that I signed states a NO REFUND policy. After my purchase I researched electrolysis, and then wanted to go that route instead of laser. I called and wanted to cancel the package and request for a refund. They stated they can’t refund my money, even though I haven’t started any treaments. Do I have any rights in getting my money back, is there a California buyer’s remorse law that applies to this? Your feedback and input would be very much apprciated, on how to get my money back. Thanks - Danny

Can anyone please help me with this matter, any input or responses would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Typically you have 3 days to cancel ANY contract. The rules state, that you must do so in writing within those 3 days. Usually, if one calls, an honest business will make arrangements for you, but if anyone is in the least bit shady, they will try to put you off until after the 3 days expires. This is why many companies like to do these one day promotions on a Friday, If you don’t give them something in writing on Monday before 5pm they can say you are out of luck. This past weekend was a slamboree of a weekend, as the business could have been closed on Monday, and many beauty based businesses are always closed on Mondays anyway. (Legally speaking, you could have mailed something in, but it would have had to be post marked Saturday to help you, as the post office would not have been opened on Sunday or Monday.)

It is not all doom and gloom however, you should be able to get a refund in small claims court if you pursue it that far, since you did not actually start the treatments, and you can easily say that the treatments were misrepresented to you in the effort to get you to sign. (for example, statements to the effect that LASER is superior to electrolysis)

Thank you James, I did sent them a letter in the mail certified. But it was after the fact of the 3 days alloted. I’m going to call them again today, to see if we can come to a mutual agreement. If not, I will have to file in small claims court. I’ll keep you posted.

Okay, things are now resolved but I had to pay a cancellation fee.

I don’t know where you are located, but in the US, a person may represent themselves in small claims court, but companies must hire a lawyer. They know that they would lose more in lawyer fees than the money they tried to keep from you. (that is, if you are in the US)

Congratulations. Now take that cash to a good electrolysis provider and get some great progress.

i am older, 60 and have a lot of gray hair around my pubic area, I started epilating and tweezing about a year ago, i have always wondered about laser or electrolosis on my pubic hairs, but when I read that these processes dont work on gray hairs, i wonder,

does anything work on gray hairs other that ripping them out?

Electrolysis works on ALL COLORS OF HAIR, ALL STRUCTURES OF HAIR ON ALL SKIN COLORS. Fear not, you have something that will work for you. The hardest part is finding someone to remove the hair. You may have to fly somewhere to get treated for a day. Anesthetic help may be needed for the whole area.
