Hi, first of all I am a 19 years old male. I have been searching on this issue for many months and I think I have found a reliable source.
I have fair skin and dark hairs. The biggest problem is my chest and arms. I do work out but I havent gone to gym for many months because there i would have to remove my shirt and I don’t want to feel weird and strange with the hairs on my chest stomach and arms. There are hairs on my legs and thighs too and I really feel strange because of them. Luckily my back is hairless just a few hairs down the neck on my neck.
I mainly want to do remove hairs on chest and arms permenantly.
I don’t want to go to professionals for that due to various reasons.
I wanted to know which one should I use from laser or electrolysis. If I can get a laser machine for home use, how much it would cost and would it be worth?
I am up to buying a electrolysis, can i do it myself or would I need people to help or so.
Btw, I am also very scared to shave my chest, stomach and legs because I think then the hairs will come faster and thicker. If I shave, how many days it will take to come back.
Thanks for your time.
Shaving does absolutely nothing to the hair. It’s an old wive’s tale. This would be the cheapest and most effective temporary method for you right now.
Home electrolysis is really not an efficient solution for all that hair. It will take a dozen years. Home laser machines do not produce permanent results. Plus, you would need to become basically a professional electrologist to do this without scarring and effectively. It’s really unnecessary and not very feasible in your case.
What is the specific issue you have about professional clinics? That’s really your best solution - laser for all dark coarse hair. These people do hair removal all day long on all types of situations. Yours sounds completely normal - almost all men have hair on these areas. You should not feel embarassed. These people are treating butts and groins all day long. This is nothing.
Is there a reason you think this hair is abnormal? It’s completely normal on a man. If you think those people you see at the gym don’t have it, you’re wrong. 90% of them remove it eitehr by waxing, shaving, or with laser.
Be aware that you’re only 19 and will be developing NEW hair into your late 20s. So you’ll need touchups every once in a while.
My best advice to you would be to read our FAQs on laser and start searching for a reputable provider with a good machine for your skin type. And saving money.
One of the issue is pricing and the time it takes.
I tried shaving for the first time on my chest and legs and omg I just loved it lol. I went to beach the same day and it was awesome.
If you want to go with at home electrolisis your best bets are Tria and Silkn. I’ve used Silkn and I have friends that have used Tria. They both work well. However, I personally recommend Silkn because it costs less.
Be careful hairtell consumers with this information. Do a search here on hairtell for ‘Silk’N’ and judge for yourself by reading others comments on this product.
