NEED SOME HELP with electrolysis (and laser?).

part 2: NEED SOME HELP with electrolysis (and laser?).

(NB:check up "emotional support for part 1)

hi all, thats my situation:

It s been 2 years since I first posted on this board.
Back then, i had the same problem i have now, only with less coarse hair and slower growth rates.
Here is my situation now: I am a male, age 21, with :
1)A unibrow (plucking at a rate of 1 time every 3 days)
2)Hair ON my nose (shaving daily or else it is noticeable)
3)A dense coarse-haired beard, requiring daily shaving.(I look unshaved by day 2, in fact, when i shave in the morning, my face remains dark, beacause of the coarseness…)

here is what i would like to do:

a)Electrolysis on the nose for total 100% hair free skin.
-how long do you think it takes?

b)Electrolysis between my two eyebrows: the idea is to get rid of the coarse hair, not completely clearing the area but making it look lighter by getting rid of the coarse hair would be great…
(a lot of men have a unibrow, but it doesnt look like a unibrow as the hair is lighter…if you get the picture…)

c)Having a beard is normal, and i like it, but mine is so coarse I ABSOLUTELY NEED to shave it on a daily basis so as to look ok (seriously, if i shave i look good, if i dont i look HORRIBLE…as simple as that).
Moreover, my beard is so coarse i get RAZOR burns each and every time i shave, and it looks so red when i shave daily…
Really, when i shave daily, it often …hurts. That s just how coarse it is.

—>>> My plan is to reduce the amount of hair and it s coarseness with laser…
But it sounds so scarry:

 -does it hurt
-permanent damage?? seriously with my coarseness i imagine burning my skin is almost certain
 -more hair instead of less???
-Can you have a social life while having treatments. Is it noticeable? for how long?
-My scin type is like (robert deniro) or al paccino, but the hair is more BLACK.What type of laser is best?

d)At last, I live in Belgium, which means i dont have much choice.
I ve spoted only one electrologist.and It is a beauty institute.Don t think it is run by a medic.
Any hints on how i can find electrologysts around here?

e)Would you say confronting a dermatopathologist is necessary?my guess is it is genetic. And With all the terrible things happening on people i m afraid he (or she ) wont understand how important this is to me.I don t know if i have the strenght to talk to a doctor about it…moreover how updated are they with those modern techniques…

Electrolysis is best for eyebrows and nose. If you go consistently to clear the area as soon as new hair appears, you’ll be done in under a year. Let us know what type of electrolysis this place is using and what type of machine. They have a lot of places in Europe that claim to do electrolysis, but they actually don’t.

You should probably consider a Yag laser for your face. Yes, it hurts. Yes, you can use a numbing cream, but there will still be some pain. Yes, you need to find someone who has experience treating male beards to get an even reduction (they need to overlap). There is no chance of induced growth for you on this area. This is a rare effect on FINE SPARSE hair only on WOMEN’s faces and men’s shoulders and upper arms, NOT this area when you have coarse dense hair. Yag laser will minimize irritation. If your beard is that dense and coarse, then you’ll probably have at least some irritation for a couple days. If they know what they’re doing and use good settings etc, this shouldn’t be anything you have to hide away from. You’ll need at least 4-5 treatments for a good reduction to make you shave less often and not have a shadow. Burning of the skin has nothing to do with how coarse the hair is. What matters is using good settings on a proper laser. Laser is attraction to pigment and your skin is light. Plus, a Yag laser is made for darker skins, so it will be more gentle on your skin.

Don’t know how to find clinics sin Belgium. Run a search here to see if other users have posted from there. There was recently a post about a good laser clinic in Germany too if you can travel.

Thanks for replying.
Yes, i noticed how here in europe they sometimes say electrolysis when they mean laser…and I never understood why electrolysis seems to be so rare compared to laser(wich is everywhere) even though electrolysis obviously always work and laser not always…

I still have these questions though:

-I m 21. do you think i should wait before going through electrolysis for nose and eyebrow? see it all appeared 3 years ago,and more and more intensively as those 3 years passed by. and i understand this is due to hormonal changes ( adolescence). As it seems stabilised right now (and i can t imagine how my nose and especially unibrow can grow more hair than it already does… i guessed it should be the right moment.but is it? wont i be throwing money and time away having to go through it again at age 25?
Moreover it was easy noticing it evolve when there was less or nothing before.but now, even if it is still evolving, i would really be able to tell…

-What can i expect with laser on the beard.
Does it look normal afterwards.less hair? less coarse?both?homogeneity?
because i m only planning to make it lighter, not wippe it out completely…

-With the little humble science i know…it should nt alter growth rate, right?(the hair follicule is either dead or alive or alive but producing less(less cells left alive per follicule) but, not in any case producing at a slower rate than before…?)

hi again.
A little UP! just in case somebody has an answer to those questions…

(even though regardless what the answer might be, i really want to start it because i feel a need to tackle with it now! …sick of waiting not doing anything. But then again, wrongdoing or waisting money is no good plan at all).
