Need some advice

I have been looking at two clinics in London, Derma- Active and LaserClear. Both clinics are using the laser called the GentleLase… and was told to be the most efficient laser out of all the devices (dont know if thats true). And am tempted to get my whole legs done. However I am Asian and have alvoe skin with dark hair, would the GL work on my skin colour?
And has anyone had treatments at the clinics above + was it successful? Or if there is anyone out there that has a recommendation for a clinic in London, I’d appreciate that. Thank You =]

Can’t remeber what type of skin gentlease is suitable for - but The Boston Clinic used to have a coolglide - excellent results on my legs - my legs are vey light skin colour but Asian none the less. The coolglide was the best option for me.

I am not an expert, but I believe GentleLASE is better for lighter skins, though it may work on slightly darker skins. My understanding of what I’ve read in the past, GentleLASE is better for I, II and III skin types. The Coolglide, as mentioned bh thereish, is a Yag, which is better for darker skins because of the wavelength. Also, from what I understand from what I read, the Yag will work on III, IV and V skin types.

I went for the consultation last week and had test patches done on my tights and lower legs (it was painful!!), they said that my skin was a type III and won’t be any problems having the treatments. However the nurse at the clinic wouldn’t tell me how many joules they are using on my legs. I worry that the laser is too weak to distroy the hair follicles?

If it hurt, and you had some redness around each follicle, then that sounds hopeful, but you will never really know until th end results until you reach the end.

I did laser hair removal on underarms and knees to ankles. I have medium dark skin. It got rid of some of it but not all of it. After a few years it seemed like some of what was gone was coming back. I suppose I will go back for some more removal appointments. It was worth having less hair for those years. I wonder if anyone else has had come back after several years.
