Need some advice please

White male, 33 years old, dark course hair.
Skin type II to III

I had 5 treatments on my shoulders with the lightsheer diode laser and had some pretty good results! Only some light hair growth and some hairs that I will tackle with electrolysis later.

I am almost finished with a treatment course for abs and chest with the Soprano XL laser. I just had my 4th treatment and only have one left. I am worried though because I feel that the Soprano XL did not work as well as the Lightsheer. I guess I will have to wait until a few weeks after the 5th treatment to see for sure but I just got a feeling.

I will post the power they are using, but I think that 10 joules is the most power you can get from the Soprano because they claim with the machine gun format you get way more joules from multiple passes with this laser.

What laser is considered the gold standard in laser hair removal for my skin and hair type? I always thought it was the Lightsheer? the reason I choose the Soprano XL is because it was a diode and is the same thing as the Lightsheer. I also went to a very good clinic here in Vancouver, BC for these treatments with the Soprano XL.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

So you had 5 sessions with a Lightsheer and 3 sessions with the Soprano. So you still got some time before you can say you did about the same with both.

Also you need to understand that every body part reacts a little bit different so it’s too early to judge anyway, and even if you had 5 complete sessions it doesn’t say that it’s enough to get good results (although it might)

Every pro I’ve seen that have both machines claim they are about the same in terms of results, so you shouldn’t really worry about that, assuming both places you went to do a good job.

In terms of gold standard, Lightsheer is probably the most recognized one on the market, most people here will say GentleLase is the best.
If you ask me, for you the most important thing is that it will be Alex or Diode, then look at other things.
