Need Referral in Dallas, Texas

After having a bad experience with laser before, I am thinking of finishing up treating my underarms. I need a referral in the Dallas, Texas area. I am transgendered and had all of my facial hair removed with electrolysis, but now I need some body hair removal.

Thanks!

I’ve heard good things about:

I would start here .

I would think that every Transgendered person in the Dallas area would be well aware of E-3000.

“I have been an electrologist for almost 18 years. I have studied in 3 countries (Mexico, Canada, and USA). I have been to several seminars regarding the Transgender community and my life changed after I took them. I know that some electrologists haven´t been very supportive, and I am very upset about it. We have a lot of experience. We are empathetic and caring regarding the TG community. We have the most up to date equipment that allows us to perform the best treatment with optimal results. We offer nearly pain free teatments. We have a lot of experience with different ethnicities and their hair necessities. We have 3 locations in the USA (2 in Houston and one in Austin) We also have one office in Mexico. We are confident that all of our patients will be very pleased with our services with the assurance that they will be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy.”

I can vouch for Cristina Navarrete.
She is an excellent electrologist in my estimation and I loved the work she did on me.

I meant, I needed a referral for LASER in Dallas, so sorry! I have had an awesome electrologist for some time, who’s cleared my face for me and done the back of my neck, fingers, toes, and some “chest” work. I am just looking to have Laser on my underarms, and possibly bikini line. I had my underarms lasered before at a chain clinic, but they wonked up and burned me so I would really like to find a physician to do it.

If anyone’s interested, I go to Dan at Electrolysis For Men. Despite the title (or because of it) he’s a pro at removing difficult, male facial and body hair which is a huge plus for any trans people in transition. His website is : http://www.electrolysisformen.com/

I had an orchiectomy years ago, but I have just started Spironolactone to see if it will help with unwanted hair. My body hair has thinned a lot, but I think my follicles are very sensitive to androgens and DHT, so I am going to try and suppress that some more.

Thanks for all the replies!

I would not lean to heavily on that Doctor preferance if I were you. You want the best person available to you, and that is often NOT the doctor. How much do you really think they put into learning, and more importantly, performing hair removal?

I am not saying that doctors doing LASER are bad, just that if you can find a case of a doctor who is not just paying someone in his office to do the hair removal (the average situation) then the question is how often is that doctor actually performing the service? How much experience does he have, and what training has he had in hair removal, and from whom did he get it?

Truthfully, the best work is often from a lifelong hair removal specialist.

The main reason I want a doctor involved is in case something goes wrong. Last time I had laser, I was told a nurse was always present. Well, I got second degree burns because the spacer on the laser was off. The technician didn’t know enough to be able to tell that something was wrong. When I called the clinic back, in serious pain, they had no idea what to do and there was no medical professional available. I ended up having to go see my own doctor for urgent help. At least if it’s done in a physician’s office, there is somebody there to help you.

I have a dermatologist I really trust, so I think I will go see him about it.

The experience of the person treating you matters, not the title. If your dermatologist has done many treatments over a few years, then I would think you are in good hands.

I haven’t heard of any consumer reports here on hairtell about great laser specialists in Dallas, so please pass on the name if you find someone good, just like you you did regarding your electrologist. We thank you forever for giving up that information. I think you posted that before because I remember that buff, naked man posing on their website

Hi:

For what it’s worth. You may want to try one of the people
on the list to see if they also do laser. My electrologist
also does laser and I’ve had her do some for me.

Currently I am getting some body hair (chest and stomach)
done with electrolysis simply because the hair there is
incredibly repulsive to me. Disgusting does not begin to
describe my feelings about it.

I’ve had laser on my face and on my arms and hands and
both were only partly effective, which is why I chose
electrolysis for the rest.

You may want to check with a local transgender group
(includes cross dressers) since they may be able to
provide a laser reference.

Good luck!

Alicia

Yeah, Dan is very good. I’ve been seeing him off and on for a few years now, while he finishes up my face (I have a few stragglers every few months) and works on other areas. He’s really good, and one of the few electrologists I’ve seen that I recommend to people.

I am lucky I did not ever have laser on my face, and just had electrolysis the whole time.
