On getting ruined early on: There was this 18-year-old kid who broke his back in a surfing accident (a long-boarder lost his board on a 15-foot day at Rincon).

The kid wore a back brace for a year … lots of pain … and medication (including cortisone that was, in the day, used indiscriminately). The kid lost his head hair and grew hair on his back. Medication caused? Who knows; maybe? Luckily, no surgery … but it was a close call.

That kid was me! … and I survived all of it. And, made a career out of it. Like they say, “If life hands you lemons … make lemonade out of it!” NOW … stop your kvetching! You’re beginning to sound like Amber Heard! Do I have to come over there and “smack you a good one?”

in terms of recovery time, do you know how long it takes for this area ( upper lip/ near noe/ pore area), to fully recover usualy? i avoid the sun , but its kinda hard because it is sunny here.

i can Answer it too.

It depends on You a Lot.

By me to full Recover 7-10 Days.

But usual Peoples Say 2 .Weeks (minimuim)

a clinic who do electrolyiss professional , dont treat (treated area) if its healed MINIMUM by 4 weeks.

But you should give it MINIMUm 2 Weeks , proparly better 3 weeks time.

so you think the area above my upper lip/near nose ( pore areas) might recover in sometimes like 2 month? if i avoid sun exposure? thanks

Not 2 Months @eudes . The PoreArea should recover in Latest 1 Month, not 2 . 2 is way too long.

Generel these things are not long, i had on cheeks , upperlip , chin , throat electrolysis . How i sayed by me it need <2 week to heal. And after treatments i look like i get beated by anyone becausse my skin is swollen a lot. By you it should heal earlier , because its kind anot much to heal. But the skin have to heal fast. Because if you treat this areas. I mean for hairremoval . You need to hit the cycles for 8-12 months.You treat this areas usual between all 4-6 weeks 1 time.

Hypertrichosis caused by minoxidil is almost always reversible, that is, it stops after you stop minoxidil treatment.

This is because minoxidil acts a vasodilator, enriching the blood supply to follicles that are dormant, but not dead, due to a poor blood supply caused typically by genetics and aging.

The ‘minoxidil hair’ is thus dependent on continued minoxidil usage (for life!) to be sustained and almost everyone who stops using minoxidil will see the follicles eventually shed and go dormant again.

Typically hair is lost in people assigned male at birth, due to conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT) which is incredibly potent and has a direct function to hair loss.

I would suggest that instead of minoxidil which can ‘artificially’ stimulate areas with follicles that don’t normally have hair, to talk with you health practicioner about starting a treatment for DHT, such as finasteride or dutasteride. These block DHT without blocking testosterone and have a remarked effect on reducing hair loss, but don’t have the ‘hypertrichosis’ behavior that minoxidil can cause.

unfortunately the hair on those area were " terminal" hair and not vellus ones so even after quitting the drug they wouldn’t fall. thanks sir

How long did you stop minoxidil for before you concluded the minoxidil-affected hair was not going to die off/fall out?

small update; i am now 1 week post electrolysis, the area of my upper cheek looks good , there is still few scab but no hole/pitting. however the area near nose/ upper look looks worse than ever, even my brother told me i had few " red holes" here. i hope this will recover. i keep you updated

Dont worry so much about this things.

Your Skin , need time to Heal.

1 Week is still, Early.

How i told you once , you should give it 3 Weeks time.

Even you can use : Antiseptic cream , Zink cream , to support the healing process.

a Cold Pad on the skin works too. But you shouldnt touch it for a while, let it heal.

If you would cut yourself in the finger ,it need also a time to heal completly.

Usual if you continue electrolysis you give it even between 1st treatment and 2nd like 3-4weeks time , that your skin , can heal.

if you would let treat other areas its not a problem.

I mean for example you would remove facial hairs.

You could do for example , today a Electrolysis apointent like 5 Hours for Upperlip /underlip .
Than you do for Monday a apointment like start /do chin… maybe some throat area.
And on tuesday/wednesda you could go more throat and any other day one cheek , than other one. And if like 3 weeks left or 4 from, your upperlip/underlip (first treatment), you could continue the area and so far.

unfortunately i have to travel the whole france to meet my electrologis. here it is really complicated. i only hope the upper lips / near nose area will recover. and then i will do another procedure for this area ( if it has perfectly healed)
