Need advice on which laser...

Hi,

I had laser with some good success a few years ago, maybe 4 years ago and I would like to get some more areas done. However the place that I went to moved quite far away so I’m looking for a more local place.

I believe the laser I used was a Candela gentlase which I think at the time was regarded as one of the best ones.

Anyway for the local ones I’ve seen they have on offer with

The GentleMax Pro which is a combination laser of

The Alexandrite 755

The Nd-YAG 1064

The other place I was looking at had a Soprano Ice.

My skin type is 2, maybe 3 at a push but I’d say more like 2, I’m a guy and I want legs underarms and I guess you would class it as a brazillian, so public region and buttocks.

Price isn’t that much of a concern because they all seem to cost about the same, I just want the best laser.

Or if anyone can recommend anywhere in North West Uk that would be great.

Thanks

The Alexandrite and ND:YAG are still the gold standard. So with Gentle Max Pro you are getting one of the best true laser tech option anyone can get. It has wide range pulse width and 18mm spot size. For hair removal the larger the spot size the better results given that they start with at least 16 joules. The Only better option out there right now is DEKA synchro replay laser which boasts a 24mm spot size for both Alezandrite and ND:Yag modes.

I would not waste time and money on Soprano. Most complaints of seeing no results involved a Soprano “laser”.

I’d never actually heard of the Soprano until now so I wanted to check, one thing that did ring alarm bells was the fact that the Soprano was “pain free” and when I had laser last time it hurt A LOT. I did want the highest settings I could though.

So start at least 16 joules? Maybe ask if I can go a bit higher, depending on safety.

Thanks for the help.

You should only be treated with 18mm spot size. If you’re a skin type type 2, you should be able to safely handle 18j/18mm spot by second session. On first session the hair is so dense that it might hurt to much going higher than 16 joules. I used topical numbing creams or else they would need to lower the energy due to pain.

Gentlemax Pro all the way!!!
