National franchises hard selling packages- Advice

I am an experienced solo physician practicing laser hair removal with Alexandrite lasers with excellent results over the past 13 years. Recently 2 large national franchise laser hair removal chains have come to town hard selling packages to unsuspecting people who find out later that the contract they signed is binding and they are unhappy with their contract or results. How do I get the truth out. Obviously these chains are financially successful and aren’t going away but I feel that unsuspecting people are being victimized by ads of 50-65% OFF and slick salespeople. How do I advertise/get the truth out to warn people of these tactics.

I hope someone has something to offer here.
We do the best we can with forums like this, and doing good work ourselves, so that people know that some people are happy with their work.
Still, one can’t help but feel for those who are taken by scammers.

High pressured sales pitches of 50-65% off of packages that were advertised through direct mailings stating “You have won a laser hair removal Sweepstakes” or slick radio ads from nationally franchised chains where people later have buyer’s remorse because of being locked into a contract that they later regret is morally irresponsible. How can this web site which is supposed to protect the informed person who does their research on this site … at the same time allow advertising from those same companies that are continuously exposed on this web site for these abhorrent practices. I’m sorry but that seems to me to be a double standard. Please don’t continue to take advertising money from these big national chains that are consistently scamming people as James W.Walker VII attests.

Are you talking about the ads on the side from google adwords?
Maybe put your own ad on google adwords to get the truth out? Maybe youtube? You can set both of these to specific regions I believe.

My advice is to ignore the chains and other practitioners. If you focus on what everyone else is doing, it takes away time and energy from your own business. It is impossible to protect consumers from themselves. Even when armed with reliable information many people make bad decisions based on sheer gut emotion and blame someone else when something goes wrong. You do not want those people in your office anyway!

You are right 100% right Mr. Hardee. But it is just extremely frustrating and simply unfair that these scamming practices not only survive but even flourish. I really do have compassion for those unfortunate people who are duped out of their hard earned money and no one is their advocate.

CareBearhair, I do Google Adwords and YouTube. Please re read my posts again and just look at the ads in the upper right corner of this page and kindly give me your thoughts. Thanks for your gracious participation. I eagerly look forward to any ideas or further advice.

You can’t really do much. You will sleep much better at night if you keep telling yourself that it’s out of your reach.
The small things you can do, i would target for adwords keywords linked to them directly. For example, if they are called ABC Laser, i would pay money and target the keyword ABC Laser. You can actually go further and write your message specificity to those clients, just make sure you don’t say anything that will hurt them, slander them and will cause them to go after you.
The other thing you can do, find out where they advertise, advertise there too.
At the end of the day, you can’t really do much, and i always hate to be the one chasing others than being the one being chased after.
