how do we check if a tria is the real deal? i purchased one from ebay and it definitely seems real. i would expect something on the machine would make you realize it’s a fake like they do with fake phones –either a misspelling or a different font used.
still i actually tried to contact customer care through the online form to ask if they could please check the serial no and tell me if it’s the real deal. that was weeks ago and i had no reply. not too happy about their “customer service”
my tria is from the USA and I live in the UK. If I call the UK based tria beauty office do you think they can check the serial number and do tria actually do that? Has anyone else called tria to check they serial number?
I purchased an official Tria directly from the company and can confirm what is said in this review. The accuracy of the laser was terrible, often causing damage to the skin which left small scars; it was far more painful than a gentlelase treatment despite lower settings; took hours and the battery life was abysmal. I almost decided to sell mine online but considered it unconscionable to do so and threw it out.
It is much better just to save up and get professional laser treatments - even this has to be carefully done with the proper settings and takes some research. When you go for a real treatment the difference is obvious, both in the way the skin reacts, and the care and preparation involved. This is not something that can be done from the home.
There is work being done on topicals and methods for improving rapidity of laser effectiveness but these are still being developed (my father is a doctor and has been doing research to help me out).
Thanks SonicBoom for your report. When we tell people this, they think we are just saying that to “protect our turff” and keep people from trying to do it themselves for less money. We really are concerned for their safety, and hoping they don’t injure themselves, while wasting precious money that could have been spent on effective treatments.
