My Treatment Log

Hey everyone,

Just got back from another session so thought I’d post. I just did my forearms with GentleLASE from elbows to finger tips, and then a test patch on my neck. My observations:

  • I did 18mm spot size and 16J on my under arms last time. I definitely felt it, nothing unbearable, and after I had no redness or pain. A week later all the hair shedded. This time as it was my first time on arms, I asked to up it higher. She preferred to stay with 16J as per Candela’s guidelines, but said she’d do 16 on my arms and next time could see about upping it which I was fine with.

  • The 16J on my arms was not fun! It wasn’t unbearable but it definitely hurt the most of any treatment I’ve done. Near the elbows where its more muscly it wasn’t as bad, but on the bone and wrist I definitely felt it. Never anything unbearable but I’m not sure I want to find out what 18 feels like!

  • After she finished doing my arms, it looked like I had a disease on my arms, they were red and looked like they were covered in mosquito bites all bumped out. After about 10 minutes though it was completley gone and they were just left red and felt fine. She put Aloe on it and I was good.

  • For my neck, she used the 15mm spot size since its more precise and easier on face, and did 20J. It felt about the same as my arm, doing full face I don’t think will be too fun either but I’ll see how this reacts and go back to do it all.

  • My treatment was about 5.5 hours ago. Right now my arms look and feel fine, but in most places you can see red dots where the hairs were zapped, similar to my IPL results.

  • I’ll post back as I begin to shed, this time I took before pictures so I can compare to what it used to look like

I want laser on my forearms as well.
Did you use any numbing cream?
Would you say it takes about 2.5 hours per arm?

2.5 hours?? Have you done laser at all before? It took me an hour in total but shaving your arms and getting everywhere on your elbows is hard, so she spent about 15 minutes cleaning up the area, then I had a test patch on my neck done so I’d say it was about 15 minutes per arm. I didn’t use any numbing cream, it’s not that bad, you definitely feel it in some places. If you go for a test patch, have them do it on your wrist, right on the bone in your forearm that lines up to your thumb, that’s where it hurts the most and can give you the best idea.

I’m sorry I misread. You wrote 5.5 hours AGO. I was thinking treatment took that long, my bad! I’ve had electro done in other places so I am used to long treatment time.
Thanks for the test past suggestion, I’ll be sure to use it!
