My results on my stomach from IPL and Apogee Elite

Hey everyone,

Just thought I’d post a quick pic, not really the best one but might be encouraging. I don’t have tons of hair to begin with, but had a lot on my stomach which is why I started with laser. I originally went to a friends clinic in Yorkville, she worked at a plastic surgeons office there so I was able to get a deal (well a deal compared to their rates). It was $100 for a session on my stomach and nipples vs their normal price of $300. In the end I did 4 sessions but only had to pay for 2. I was treated with the Lumenis One IPL module. After the 4th session I had found this site and learned about IPL so stopped going there. At my current clinic, I did 2 sessions on my full front which was $85 in total with Apogee Elite alexandrite. I unfortunately don’t have any before pictures, but my stomach was completely covered in hair, and under my belly button it was very dark/coarse, the kind where if I shaved it, you’d see it a few hours later and couldn’t hide it without waxing. So there definitely was a lot there, typical guy hair I guess, very dark brown with some almost black.

Anyway, I haven’t shaved the area or done anything to it in forever, and checking my calendar, it’s been 4.5 months since my last session. Not the 6 months we normally have to wait, but there’s been literally no change in over a month, with the section right at my waist line completely smooth actually, and the dark coarse hair all but gone. I wanted to take a pic to show everyone that IPL can be effective if done right (I know I did 2 alex sessions too but honestly I saw the most results from the IPL). You can’t really see hair in the pic, but I guess that’s the point, I have some hair there but it’s very fine. Fine enough that it’s hard to see in a photo vs before where there was tons of it. So just thought I’d post this to show my results and to show that IPL isn’t all that bad

I tried taking a picture very close but it’s really unflattering and looks ugly so I deleted those. Point is before starting, taking a picture like this you’d 100% have seen all the hair. Also note you can see in my forearms as well the reduction, I used to have very hairy forearms/hands too and again you can see the great results from the apogee.

Thanks for the photo! Glad to hear that your treatments worked so well (whatever machine you attribute the results to). I’m also still jealous that they were so damn cheap, haha. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Pardon the dumb question, but are you wearing a wedding band? I can’t remember if you mentioned having a serious partner or not, but I definitely don’t remember you mentioning you were married. Is this a new development?

Thanks for the update.

IPLs DO work. They’re just not as efficient as true lasers. In the end, the settings and experience matters too. Comparisons between machines always assume that they’re being used at the best possible settings and in the best conditions in terms of skin and hair types they’re being applied to.
