My Past 2 Years with the Lightsheer XC Diode Laser

It’s been some time since I posted last, so I thought I’d submit an update. : )

As some of you might remember, I started my treatments in February of 2002 with the Lightsheer Diode Laser XC. My treatment area was full arms, full legs, in hopes of looking more average.

Here was the arm treatment schedule:

1st: Feb, 2002, 28 fluence
2nd: May, 2002, 30 fluence
3rd: Aug, 2002, 32 fluence
4th: Oct, 2002, 34 fluence
5th: Jan, 2003, 36 fluence
6th: Apr, 2003, 38 fluence
7th: Jun, 2003, 42 fluence
8th: Sep, 2003, 44 fluence
9th: Jan, 2004, 46 fluence.
10th: Apr, 2004, 48 fluence
11th: Skipped during Summer
12th: Nov, 2004, 53 fluence

The leg schedule:

1st: Aug, 2002, 26 fluence
2nd: Nov, 2002, 28 fluence
3rd: Feb, 2003, 30 fluence
4th: Apr, 2003, 32 fluence
5th: Jul, 2003, 34 fluence
6th: Oct, 2003, 35 fluence
7th: Jan, 2004, 38 fluence
8th: Apr, 2004, 42 fluence

(arms took longer since they didn’t respond as well)

Overall I’m still satisfied with my results. I was able to wear regular clothes during the summer, and there haven’t been any lingering side-effects. I still go in now and then for touchups, but it’s been 8 months since my last full session.

This page still has some good information and pictures from my experience:

I’ll try to answer any questions you might have. : )

Are you going to get any more Lightsheer treatments or finish up with electrolysis?

This shows that laser does work if sufficiently high fluences are used.

RJC2001

Now that it’s been over 10 years since my diode laser treatments, I just wanted to come back and say that laser hair removal (if done correctly, etc.) is permanent.

I have not had any regrowth on my arms and legs, and it’s been 11 years. I did not have to have any “maintenance” sessions or electrolysis. It was a life changing investment, and considering the money I saved over the years on razors and waxing, I would do it again.

I strongly encourage anyone considering permanent hair removal to go forward with laser right away if you have brown or black hairs.

Thank you for this update, I really appreciate it.
