My Long Term Results

Hi all, just checking in.

I had laser hair removal with a Lightsheer several years ago. From February 2002 (28 fluence) to April 2004 (53 fluence), I had 11 treatments on my forearms (8 on my legs).

Early results were posted at:

I’m happy to say that the effects of the treatments have lasted over 2 years. I’ve seen no indication that the hairs are going to return.

I just wanted others to know that even though Lightsheer laser is an expensive and lengthy treatment cycle, it’s been permanent for me.

(On a side note, for those with keratosis pilaris, laser had no effect on it).

Great to hear from you! Thanks as always for providing such detailed information! I know a lot of consumers have been helped by your generosity!

Thanks for posting your follow up! Maybe that will help put to rest the unsubstantiated claims that somehow by magic “all the hair will grow back a few years later.”

I must admit that I am more impressed with the arm results than the legs, as age and poor circulation often ends hair on legs.

What I would like to know is how well your legs healed from the burn spots you reported, and do you have any currently visible marks on your legs now.

Oh the leg pictures were after only a couple of treatments. Surprisingly, I only needed 8 treatments to get the results I wanted (very little hair, and what hair remains to be “normal”). On my arms, it took 11 to get the same. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

The burns did take over a year to fully fade. I’d say they were completely gone with no trace after 2 years. As I was still continuing treatment during that time, the laser folks took extra care (lower fluences, plenty of ice packs before and after). Apparently the laser had a problem, they sent it in for service, and it never happened again.

Remember to treat your skin delicately after treatment too, especially if you’re using an anesthetic like EMLA, since you won’t feel any damage you do.
