Re: a very nice woman and I like her a lot.
She’s been plucking her few chin hairs for 20+ years; I have seen her SEVEN times in the last year (appointments are seldom more than 5-minutes.) Here’s the (predictable) scenario.
She can’t make an appointment: She calls the day (and hour) she “needs” an appointment … immediately. If I can’t see her; well, that’s several weeks later that I hear from her. (Why? Because she tweezes out the hairs she sees.)
Presents hairs too short (yes she will shave now and then): Several times I couldn’t grasp the hairs with my forceps (too short), and had to send her away. At every appointment, I see evidence of tweezing (although she denies it, and I don’t say anything any more. What’s the point?). Yesterday was the first and only time I was able to perform true “progressive epilation” … the hairs were long enough! YEAH!
She has never listened: I do love this person (I really do), but I cannot get a “word-in-edge-wise.” She talks incessantly and has never allowed me to complete the “explanation.” I gave up!
She always claimed that the hairs were only on her shin. But by some miracle, a few big juicy hairs showed-up on her upper lip yesterday (the rest of the lip had been tweezed … as usual.)
And then her statements:
“I don’t know why this is, but I’ve never had hairs like this on my upper lip?” (Implication: I’m causing upper lip hairs to grow.)
“Oh, please go ahead and use more current if you need to do this; I really want these hairs gone.” (Implication: You aren’t killing the hairs you idiot … maybe turn up the current?)
“I don’t know why ALL the hairs keep coming back? I had electrolysis done 30-years ago and I only needed ONE treatment.” (Yeah, sure!)
“Gosh, I’ve been coming to you for a WHOLE YEAR and this still doesn’t seem to be working!” (No comment.)
So far she hasn’t seen a SCAR … but that’s probably next on the agenda … at the end of this wretched turmoil.
And me? … big stupid JERK: most of the time I don’t charge her; when I do, it’s $20. I don’t think I’ve “made” $80 this ENTIRE YEAR! (Seems much longer … he he he).
I only get this “abuse” from people that have NO HAIR. Give me a guy with tons of body hair, some juicy underarms or a REAL heavy case of facial hair … and, that’s never a problem AND it gets completed FAST without complications. I wonder how many guys I’ve completed this year while this woman is still “unable to get results?”
Thank you for allowing me to RANT. This was my last such case … EVER! After decades of hearing this stuff, it mostly feels like punishment. HAIRY BACKS to the front of he line! Such cases are actually FUN for me! I like to see results! Guy just “go for it” and don’t spend “decades” fiddling around … mostly!
I know that mostly patients complain on Hairtell. But guess what? … electrologists have complaints too! I know every seasoned Zapperette reading my post is nodding in agreement! So, there it is!
