Sounds like slight bruising. It’ll go away. Did you have any tan on that area?
That doesn’t sound like hyperpigmentation to me. Closer to a burn, but not serious burn. Not anything worth giving major thought to, in my opinion.
Burn isn’t even the right word for it, maybe (I’m not an expert, obviously). Just a “strong reaction” maybe? If there are pinprick scabs/blood, then I would let the clinic know, because you don’t want that to happen worse next time.
Hopefully it will heal well, just be careful with it.
EDIT: Apparently it’s a bruise. Makes sense. If so, then I really wouldn’t worry about it.
I don’t wanna call my clinic because I don’t want to go there in the future. Glad it’s normal then, I was thinking, I hope it’s not one of those things that take forever to go away.
LAgirl, no tan. My legs don’t see sunlight at all. Even my bathroom doesn’t really have windows for sunlight to come through.
It’s bruising. Bruising is not a burn.
I’m not too sure what to think of my results.
It’s been way over 3 weeks.
What I can say about my underars is that I saw a lot of the thinner hairs left over (even if they’re not too thin).
With my arms, hair did shed but there are still thicker hairs which are small and if I try to tug at them they won’t come out. The thinner hairs on the other hand do, but I can’t be bothered sitting there doing that. So it hasn’t shed naturally.
Same with legs. On my left leg on the side it seemed like it was all missed patches, because the hair seems to have just grown as normal, whereas on other parts of the leg it has either shed a little or not shed.
When the time comes for another appointment, I will go to the hospital. But I am reluctant because they charge £40 for a consultation, then £40 for a test patch which you have to have of course, and the test patch they refund when you book an appointment. I don’t have that much money so if the settings aren’t as high as they should be then that is going to be disappointing.
As in, if I go for the consultation and test patch, and I report the settings back here, then you guys might say it is too low, and if I tell them, what if they react the same way as the clinic? That would be a waste of money.
Any hair that’s growing as usual at this point was missed and needs a touchup (I wouldn’t bother unless more than 5-10% of hair was missed).
You can call and ask for settings. No need to wait to come in there in person. Let’s take it one step at a time and find them out first. Then we can figure out what to do from there.
We did get settings last time. Do you remember they were doing 14/16 joules on underarms but with legs they went up to 20 and that’s it?
The left side of my left leg seems to be untouched although I remember her passing it over so not sure what happened there. It seems like my hair doesn’t want to shed itself and I have to pick it out which is tiring.
I don’t think I’ll go back there as it hasn’t worked out for me but I don’t know.
If you can pick the hair out and it comes out without resistance of plucking, it’s dead and it doesn’t need to be retreated. I’m ONLY talking about hair that’s growing as usual at 3 weeks.
I believed you used LightSheer and those are relatively low settings on it. With LightSheer, what matters a lot is using compression. Settings can be ok, but not applying the machine properly can result in lack of results.
Hi
Lasaer wont induce coarse hair growth but fine hair and that is really tricky to remove. But only possible from inexperienced operators or clinics. Good ones know what they are doing.xx
At 3 weeks a lot of hairs are growing as usual on the left side of my left leg.
I really want to get laser done and dusted and want to go to the hospital but I am scared of losing £80 if the settings are too low on the consultation and they don’t want to go higher.
Have you read posts by Benjiboy? I thought he found some decent options in London that he recommended in the past…
I did but I guess I’m going to have to reread them after the experience as I will understand better. let me find them.
I don’t like how my legs look at all. There are still so many pepperspots and it has been ages since I had my treatment. I exfoliate too. Also the areas around where the hair comes out looks pinkish so my legs look different colours rather than a smooth look.
How long has it been? Are you due for another treatment yet?
My last treatment on leg (first) was on 14th of June looking at this thread.
I haven’t really got hair growing back which is thick except the left leg where it seems she missed the left side. I have thin hairs which when pulled, leave easily.
Then there’s the pepperspots. Some of these eventually come out and I pull and it’s like what happens or should happen after 3 weeks.
Overall I don’t have hair growing out which is thick, but that’s probably because they’re still pepperspots.
You’re due for another treatment. It will burn off most of the pepperspots too.
Even if there anre’t any hairs that have grown back really? I thought once we start to see some new growth we book an appointment.
Well, from what you mentioned, the treatment wasn’t great. And if pepperspots bother you, you can get your treatment now. Anytime between 8-12 weeks is fine. If you can wait 12, then do that instead. If they bother you too much, then 8-9 weeks is ok too.
Wait I’m confused now. So the next treatment will be effective as long as it is between 8-12 weeks? I thought the next cycle of hairs had to be present again before going in for the next treatment?
Effectiveness depends on settings. Treatment spacing should be 8-12 weeks on most areas. Legs have longer cycles and can wait 10-14 weeks often.
