MY INTENSE OUT OF TOWN CONSULTS REPORTS!

Am in a bit of a mad rush searching for good place to possible do 3rd LHR treatment and get started on electrolysis on face. This is all happening while I am here, out of town, as I can not find anyone in my home town. Trying to find places to consult though it is literally like choosing blindfolded !
So i am under serious time pressure to find a good person/place and get going before I must leave to return home !!
Please understand if I post a few emergency questions here over the next few days! I REALLY APPRECIATED THE REPLIES I GET HERE!

Re: Electrolysis- Found a place here that uses machine called Sequential by Silhouette . Any thing i should know good or bad about that?? She says it is something everyone will be using once the patent is out as there is zero pain and very effective . She also said it uses thermolysis and something else together. Her ad says blend treatments…my consult is tommorow so I will report back!
Re: Laser- Appointment with place that has a alexandrite ( gentlelase) and one called Duet. Anyone know about the Duet? They say it is the most advanced laser for HR and preferable. Appointment tomorrow so will reprot back. Their prices are WAY higher than anywhere ive seen and much higher than what i paid at the place with coolglide YAG back home so unless the yag is really wasting my time i may just stick to it. I WISH I COULD FIND A cheaper place with an ALEX here ( Winnipeg, Canada) but so far no luck!

I have this in the electrolysis thread too as I am looking for both LHR and ELECTL …I want to add this update from todays consult!..

If i had my CHOICE in the matter for Laser i would be in New York with Chris at Romeos and for electrolysis I would be in Malaga Spain ( dancing flamenco!) and seeing Josefa after having seen Josefa’s amazing photos here !

Regarding lasers, Cool glide Yag is the ONLY choice they have in my town for LHR. I have had one session ( low leg, underarm, bikini) and am scheduled for 2 more.I paid for a total of three sessions.

I did travel to another city for my second LHR session ( undarm, face, lwer legs , lower arm, xtend bikini) ,and though she had an Agopee with Yag and Alex sides , She chose to use yag everywhere ( on what i was told here were very low settings) and alex only on face. I didn’t have the research done about this or i would have pushed for the alex side. When i asked later why not the alex , once i had learned here that Alex was best for my light skin ( 2-maybe 3 , no tan, dark hair) ,she said that was outdated info about alex being better than Yag ,simply because alex had been around longer and , that alex is better for the lighter color hair…
( more on that in detail on another of my threads if you are interested http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads…html#Post97460)

Eleclrotlysis in my town is also very limited and has been a heartbreaking experience as you can read here: http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads…html#Post97434

So I can not find anyone at home that feels good. I am only doing the sideburns of my female face. If that goes well i might try other areas continuing in the beard area and maybe do sides of stache too.

I would WAY rather have shorter frequent treatments at home of course if I could find someone! I had given up on this dream until i was told here that long distance electrolyse can be successful.
Soooo here i am now in another bigger city with limited time and the hunt is ON !! I am on phone and trying to book consults with enough time to choose someone and get started. No recommendations can i find so I must really rely on this feedback here ! It was Josefa’s thread that renewed my hope that I can have great success with Electrolysis even if out of town and treatments every few months.

I had one consult today with an electrolysist. I am going to run into this repeatedly so I must say that MANY of these places have electrolysis and laser and they seem to genuinely be suggesting laser to me as it is much less expensive , less time ( considering i will travel in for treatments)and less risk of hyper pigmentation which I am prone to, especially if i have hour long sessions to cover sideburns. I have heard the pros and cons and seem to read alot here on this forum that laser is not as effective on face and there is greater risk of growth kicking in as a result of laser. But these techs that do both say that they have had many great results with their laser on the sides of the face even with fine hair as long as it is dark in color. It is really hard to believe they would lie, as they stand to make more money with their elecrlsysis and they seem sincere! so what to believe???

Today electrolysis was this conversation above so i must make up my mind on this topic SOON! Anyways her electrolysis was great though i noticed that she also forgot to sanitize my area before and after! I think we were just talking too
much so i wont hold it against her. She has been in business electrol 25 years LHR also since 05.
Her machine she LOVES after having tried many . In fact she said if i could find another she would purchase it in a flash. It is a German machine called E95 by Heitland . It does not not have any sort of computer , it is fully manual, so no foot pedal, no buzzer or sensor sounds and she enjoys that she is free to treat each hair individually. She does not feel it is treated till it slides out. A couple of my test hairs she treated a few times and they did not come out, however the majority felt fine and slid out. Our session went well. She would rather not treat me in long sessions of an hour ( SIDE burn area) as she is concerned about my possible reaction towards sensitive skin and hyper pigmentation so though she is able she feels perhaps it is better to do a few half hour sessions instead before i leave. She does feel i would have great results on the dark hairs with laser and that it could be done while i am here. Her laser is Elos. My sense is that if i do become convinced to try laser on the sides of my face i should go with the gentleLase other expensive place here in this city as face is such an important area to do right.
As far as electrolysis ( and laser ) i have a few more consults booked so will report back. Your detailed info and replies REALLY will help me to make the right choices in such limited time !! THANK YOU

Regarding the electrolysis machine question, without the number or letter name of the machine, we can’t tell you anything, as all Silhouet-Tone machine names start with something like that, followed by either a number, or letter combination.

When it comes to incentive to steer you to LASER vs Electrolysis, there is one thing you are not thinking of, and that’s effort. While one may be able to charge one person more money for the comparatively longer electrolysis session, the money one makes doing LASER requires MUCH LESS physical exertion on the part of the practitioner. It is like asking why a person would steer you towards buying an automated machine made shirt off the rack, when a custom tailored one would make them more money. The answer is, of course, dollars per hour, and effort expended by the individual. The automated shirt maker, can crank out a shirt in 5 minutes with the push of a button. Twelve shirts per hour. Which would you think the average person would be more likely to do, push a button 12 times in an hour, for $20 to 30 each, or do all that measuring, cutting, checking, pining, stitching and so on, in order to make $100.00?

Since I can do men’s sideburns in less than 4 hours, any day of the week, I can tell you that there are people out there who can do your lady hairs in less than 4 hours, and with a good skin result. You just have to find them.

Thanks James. I did respond in the electro forum. Because this search is for electro for face and for laser for body i have posed in both forums. I dont know how to delete a thread or I would ,as i dont like the title of this…would like to restart this thread as MY INTENSE OUT OF TOWN CONSULTS REPORTS! Today i see two more techs…will let you know what i can!

THANKS for changing my title DFAHey! Once a post is up I am guessing it is not possible to change or delete??
Should i update this with the same subject in the electro forum or is it too much repeated ? This is turning into a full time job!

Danika,

Just pm me with what you want changed or deleted.

Is it LightSheer Duet? If yes, it has two spot sizes- 9mm9mm and 12mm35mm… I’d go with 9mm*9mm

GentleLase would definitely be the best choice.

You can stick to your old clinic too. CoolGlide can give you DECENT reduction- may be not as good as GentleLase but you can expect some reduction if your hair is coarse and dark.

The laser clinic consult was horrible and their prices were SUPER high, especially compared to the last city where i was laser scouting .For example. lower arm 400, lower leg 450. They were not even clear on what their machines were and they were also very uncomfortable that I was daring to ask that question! In fact they were not comfortable with any of my approx 4 or 5 questions. It was plain weird. It was called Duet but not sure if it is light sheer or not. They did have the Apogee elite too. I had gone there specifically because I seen on the web that they had a Gentlelase , i even called to confirm that and finally when i was there they didnt not seem to have that one , it was just strange. AT the end i still was not entirely sure what machines they have. They did not seem very knowledgable AT ALL though it was a doctor’s office etc and a very uppity place. When i asked for a sample setting she really squirmed and seemed to be unsure of the terms used for joules etc. She said that they always start out for first few treatments on the same settings based on skin color etc, for example 12 m spot size, 20 j, 20 ms. She said there is no good reason to turn settings up as if it is high it can turn hairs white. She said there is no good reason to adjust settings and would only consider doing so a little if there is no reaction at all with that setting . I had hoped to do at least a few areas there but with their attitude , their total discomfort with any questions I just wont do it. So yes hopefully the Coolglide yag will be effective cause that is now what I am left with laser wise unless i can get out of town again. My hairs are not coarse and at this point after a couple laser sessions are thinner and lighter so I really hope the yag will still work. There is no options at home so I will just hope for the best. Where I REALLY NEED ADVICE NOW is in the electrolysis area so I will go and post there !!
