My feelings on this site, on products, please read

Hello! This is my, errm, 16th post on this site in less then 24 hours…woops…but hey I am a student on my year abroad in france and I literally have NOTHING to do normally…

The site is really quite superb, I agree (as we all do) that we feel personally afflicted by our hair…have many of you considered though that if we were to see each other we would probably think one another was crazy and wrong…what I mean is…Anorexics have group therapy with other anorexics so they can convince each other the truth, and maybe it would be the same for us? I mean how many people have actually ever commented that YOU are unattractive because you are too hairy?..

An interesting thought perhaps? ( or just me trying to be intellectual, lol)

I think the way everyone supports one another on here is just fantastic and its so superb that this exists and you dont have to feel alone anymore…even if the rather depressing news at our options is not quite so fantastic…I mean we got a man on the moon for goodness sakes, we can teleport beams of light, they can grow teeth in labs now (my dentist told me that when i went last week!)…surely we cant be far from a breakthrough?

Or maybe if they did that, everybody else, the razors, the wax companies, the electrolysis/laser clinics…they would all go out of business…

My final thing is that we shouldnt be too suspicioius, I decided I wanted to de-hair and de-mole myself a few weeks ago…although I always had done, and I have began a concientious effort to do something…I went on www.dermatend.com (please dont start attacking me, this is not an advert Im just telling you my experiences!)…and the site looks like a total scam with all these typical kalo style and hairbegone and finally free style testimonies…‘A.Reeves of Montana - Dermatend changed my life, thank you so much!!!’, but I bought it for $50, totally sceptical, and it has completely worked…I have some scars where I did it, so it hasnt been perfect, and Im not sure if the skin will ever look totally normal where they were, but hopefully they will heal soon…

What I am saying is…Surely its become so difficult to not look like a scam that when someone is tellling the truth, the hardcore ‘truth’ searchers like ourselves do not believe it…??

If any of you have moles or warts or anything though I can personally reccomend dermatend it has been superb…and I am so scared of you lot saying I am advertising it! (hence why i included the criticism!), but seriously if ONE of you tries it you can back me up here!.. Keep your eyes and minds open people…We will find a solution in this age of technology and it may be closer then we all think…

how bad are your scars? Do you think it is possible to do something that could possibly cost more than $50 but without the scars? how long has it been since you did it? do you think it’s safe to mess with your moles on your own? Some of them could be cancerous and I always thought it was best to leave it up to professional dermatologists etc.

A mole could be evidence of something serious, or something serious in the beginning stages. If you “erase” the mole and no one can see it anymore, pre-cancerous activity could continue below the skin and treatment could be delayed, then, it is too late to hope for a cure.

I’m talking about pre-cancerous/cancerous lesions. My mind closes to products like these because they can be dangerous to the uninformed. I guess you should go to a physician and have the moles checked out first and then get their advice about this product. After all, a physician has devoted 27-30 years of their life just to get to the point where they can begin to practice medicine. Don’t dismiss doctors as money hungry “a chance to slash is a chance for cash” types. That is not the norm as many people joke about.

Please be careful.

Awww guys that is lovely thank you…I appreciate the concern…Dee I can tell you and I will be friends lol!

Well firstly cost is not an issue as I am english and we have a beautiful thing called a state health service lol so it would’ve been free…
but I didnt want to go through the hassle and the likeliness of scarring is much high having a scalpal/stitches etc…I have treated 4 moles, one is rather scarred ( but still small and still an improvement), one needs re-treating (because i hadnt done it thoroughly enough) and two are looking excellent.

To be honest I had had the moles all my life and I would’ve noticed any changes which could spell danger…
The scars are not bad at all no, I only started doing it about 3 weeks ago so some are still not done and will need a little re-treatment when I go back to england again next week…

To be honest its been so ‘undramatic’ i cant see anything bad could really come out of it…the dermatend product is made almost solely of a plant called bloodroot which has been used for years (apparently) to dissolve bad tissues…I am less bothered about having scars because surely that is less bad then moles which can ‘catch/develop’ cancer?..plus scars will go/fade, moles wont.

Dermatend have also been excellent, I have emailed them constantly because Ive been worried about whether it was going right, and even after I had bought their product they still replied and offered advice etc…

I just want to be the best I can be you know, its the same reason you are all here as well, because we are ‘shallow’ (in some peoples minds) for being so bothered about our appearance
and I am only 21 so i thought what the hell…I dont regret it at all, I really do reccomend it…you just put it on and it totally leaves the surrounding tissue alone, just turns to a scab, and heals…done!

Thanks again for worrying though thats so sweet!

P.S I should also add that the scars are my own fault, It does specifcally and repeatedly say do not remove the scab but what they didnt say was the scab is just dieing to fall off! not like a normal scab…

Self treating moles is not a good idea and bad advice as skin cancer rates are steadily increasing. If you are truly altruistic and continue to plug the product, it would be nice if you suggested that folks have the moles checked by a dermatologist.

Pardon me?
I am not tellling people to do anything, I am just telling people about my experience……I didnt mean any harm I was just excited and wanted to share my experience…

People should be getting that information for themselves first hand anyway and surely that is up to them to search for it and them to find that out and the website to give?

I dont know anything about it which I think is fairly apparent, Anyway Im pretty convinced by everyone that infact Ive just sealed my own death so why dont we leave it at that?

Everybody - Do not use this product I am very sorry I mentioned it.

See this is something that i have noticed to be a repeated trend on this forum, people say something innocently enough, and it gets briefly discussed before they then start being attacked by everybody for what they said…

That is not helpful, my original post was up for 45 minutes (as you can see) before somebody raised this point.
People can already see that they should see a dermatologist from what lagirl and Dee said, and I totally agree it is a very valid point, I only wish somebody had said that to me before I’d done it now…but it was said and acknowledged…and I dont appreciate you making out like im endorsing sunbathing in baby oil or throwing yourself off a cliff…I was simply trying to inform people of their options and share my experiences.

tom, just to quickly say i have too used this product and it does work how it says it does.

just to say again, anyone thinking on using this product should definately get their moles checked first, i didnt because im lazy and thats the risk ive taken. i think what dee was saying is that if you remove a mole, it could still become cancerous later on and would go undetected for a long time.

ive removed about 8 moles with no scarring and i think its great not having to look at them anymore. i wish removing hair was as easy

Is it not possible to still be checked once the moles are removed?

well, im not an expert, quite the opposite actually. but i would imagine that if you go in the sun and a mole turns to skin cancer it is clear to see as the outer edges of the mole become blurred and the mole increases in size. but if the mole is removed then the area would still become cancerous but with no clear sign until perhaps a lump would form. catching it later rather than earlier.

like i say im just speculating, if someone wants to correct me, please do. maybe just apply extra protection to areas treated when in the sun.

Precisely, exactly what I thought, I did the old rolling a glass tumbler along it and looking at it closely and I had no reason to be concerned, I have not noticed any change in them and to the best of my knowledge ( and my friends here who i have asked tonight) that is exactly what a doctor would do for you anyway so…

Thanks and good luck to you, Tomsk14.

Dee

I agree that there is nothing wrong with being happy about a product that works. I’ll look into it myself as well. But I would definitely recommend as everyone else has said for you and others to get the moles checked out first to make sure they’re not cancerous. Like Dee said, they could help you determine that there is a problem and if they’re gone, you might not get that chance before it’s too late.
