My experience...Can somebody help me?

I am 27yo guy in my best age I could say. I am independent, I have education, but something is missing. That something is self-confidence what comes to showing my legs. Reason for that is that I am unnatural hairy from my legs and buttock’s. I thin it’s very sad because I consider to be attractive guy and I am in excellent physical condition. But when it comes to showing my legs in beach or somewhere else I feel like Frankenstein. It’s so bad that I have some difficulties build a good human relationship with a nice girl. All the relationships have been crashed for that thought that I need expose my extreme hairy legs in front of the group of people that would eventually laugh me and make my feeling miserable. With the clothes on I am the most confident and cool guy, but with out clothes, that all is gone.

Background for my hairiness is probably there that when I was about 18yo I played sports and I used Testosterone hormones many times and I injected too big doses to my buttock. Immediately after those times I started to get very hairy, even hairier then my father and I think that is weird.

Like 5 year from that I started to cut my hair so that it wouldn’t look that unnatural. But eventually my whole lower body from waist down was covered of thick black hair. Other parts of my body are not really that hairy, or if there is hair like in my arms, it is very thin and doesn’t look that bad.

I would like know that does anybody has any experience from this kind of cases, if not would the waxing regularly help my hair to grow more thinner and eventually not that unnatural. I guess using the laser would be the best option but in case where the are is as big as mine (from waist to all the way down) the price of laser would be very expensive.

Please tell me your experiences, looking to find some peace to my problem and have a normal live where I could enjoy great thinks like beach…Thanks!

Hey, I’m a hairy ass dude, and I have never been comfortable with it. Just shave it or better yet epilate it. Ya, you might feel like an infemininit male gay guy, but f@ck it, it feels good to be hairless.

Ahh…so it does. In fact you feel like a greek statue - perfect and smooth…ehhh.

Laser is NOT permanent. Laser only offers permanent reduction and sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn’t. Laser is a little gamble. The only hair removal method that is accepted as permanent is electrology. Pick a good electrologist in your area, and then start going to them 2 to 3 times a week for a year. You’ll get to pay a small amount at a time, and you’ll achieve guaranteed results.

You must be incredibly bear pelt hairy to be soo self conscious, because as a girl I can tell you one of the odder things I’ve never minded was the Faun hair on men. Back hair and super chest hair can be icky, but most of us really could not care if theres a good face and a good personality attached to it.

As a person though I can certainly understand. I know allot of really hairy guys and most of them seem like they could care less. But personally I know how some things are not any easier to tolerate because others do.

Besides allot of girls get upper leg and butt hair bad too, just harder to notice as allot hide it with a deep tan. A few years ago I had an hormonal issue that cause me to start to get it (same thing that gave me some face fuzz fumes) but they were still semi vellus and reverted somewhat. So now I have these hairs that are nothing short of a nightmare to see in the shower shaving.

First to address the misinformation, laser IS permanent. In the right hands with the right machine and on the right type of hair, it does a great job. I’m proof of that along with many other success stories here. I’ve had success with both laser and electrolysis as I did proper research to get me results with both.

For such a large area with dark coarse hair I assume, you have several options:

  1. Cheapest would be to clip the hair, which is what many men do if you read this forum. You can use a trimmer for this.

  2. Waxing is an option, though not cheap and not that great in my opinion because it leaves you hairless for a while. And I’m not sure a completely hairless look is what you’re after as that’s not “natural” either. Waxing does NOT make the hair grow any less btw. Legs generally shed hair as you age, but that happens naturally.

  3. Laser is most expensive, but it’s permanent and you would only need a reduction (i.e. 3-4 treatments) to get to a result that you seem to be ok with (i.e. natural look, not completely hairless). Leg treatments are about $400-700 per treatment and only need to be done once every 3-4 months. So it’s not that much money over the course of a year. Most places do financing or take credit cards too. The most important thing to do if you decide on this method is to do proper research so that you get good results for your money. The FAQs at the link below were written with this purpose in mind.

I find it incomprehensible to read so many ads that state laser removal is PAINLESS and then read about “victims” that found out this is NOT TRUE. I also have seen many ads that praise their “chilling” device that cools down the skin so that it is not too hot. This would not be needed if the laser was not HOT, therefore, the laser IS HOT and CAN BURN leaving you with SCARS. For those who had no burns or scars, it is possible the laser was on a lower setting, consequently, you had no side effects but also NO POSITIVE EFFECTS. Also note, that there is much info that states it does not work at all and see posts by “victims” who maintain it is “wonderful” after only a few days. This is meaningless untill a few months have passed and they report again. A few follicles may be “shut off” for a while because they have been “traumatized” but after a few months they may still be growing hair.

The ONLY EFFECTIVE PAINLESS METHODS ARE X-RAY but it can burn you without you feeling it and also can cause cancer, therefore, it is illegal in this country. Also drugs that are used to treat CANCER BY KILLING THE CANCER CELLS CAN CAUSE ALL YOUR HAIR TO FALL OUT, (INCLUDING EYEBROWS) but IT ALL GROWS BACK WHEN THE DRUGS ARE STOPPED.

The root system MUST BE DESTROYED ONE FOLLICLE AT A TIME FOR BEST REULTS AT THE PRESENT TIME. This is validated by FDA.

Seriously, lefty, were all the CAPS necessary? While I get the point you are trying to make, I don’t understand where your tangent belonged in this conversation.

He won’t reply back to you. He just pops into view now and then TO SHOUT at us. He doesn’t engage in conversation, from what I have observed.

Thank you all for the answers…

I just might consider using laser because the results are more natural as somebody mentioned.

Does anybody know any good laser clinics in North Jersey or in New York City. What I heard in Jersey it would be way more expensive then in NYC. Any advise on this?

There are other possible side effects from steroids you may find more traumatic than excess hair. If you haven’t, you want want to have a through check-up to make sure you are otherwise ok.

I have heard lots of quack claims about waxing and sugaring eventually leading to permanent hair loss (the infamous Nad’s infomercial comes to mind.) I plucked out my leg and facial hair with tweezers for years, since I was 18-30. I never, ever noticed any reduction, and I was looking believe me. I tend to believe the pros that hair loss some experience “with waxing” is age related. A friend in their 50s once told me “I used nair once and the hair just never grew back!” and insisted it was the nair that permanently removed his hair; needless to say I didn’t believe it despite their insistence it was not their age and they never noticed any loss before.

Laser is not painless, but as with all things your mileage will almost certainly vary. I have had 9 laser treatments on my face, and I can vouch for the fact it can hurt. REALLY HURT! Like 50 needles of thermolysis cranked all the way up, zapping all at once in the same small area. However, the upside to the pain is that where it hurt the most it was most effective, and very effective at that! (at least in achieving long-term reduction).

If you go for a laser consultation, ask about anesthetic! Some don’t for some reason, some are too embarrassed to say they need it. Don’t be, ask! It still may hurt but it does help take the edge off.

As far as being natural, it depends on how you look at it. Laser on my face left me with large gaps of hair (and shadow) where the laser worked and where it didn’t. It took about 5 treatments before it begun to balance out. If your leg hair is very thick and dense, I suspect you may be left with patches where you have full-on hair and areas where you have no hair; you may have to shave your legs anyway!

From my own experience and my own observations, most GGs like some body hair on a male… much to my chagrin! :frowning: You might be better off just trimming and leaving the hair on if you are worried about what women think, not having any hair may cause the reverse problem.

If you do decide to go ahead and have laser or electrolysis, research research research! Be an educated consumer, go to various places for consultations, ask questions and questions and questions until you turn blue in the face. (Ask poor James how many questions I asked when I met him in person years ago!) It is a common thread on this forum for good reason. I did before I had any work done, and for the most part I am happy and got what I expected. I know others who have been ripped off, or even worse bear the scars of inept “hack” practitioners.

You can start with a consultation at Romeo&Juliet in NYC. The owner Chris posts on this forum once in a while.

NJ tends to be more expensive because only MDs are allowed to operate lasers there (not necessary).

You should check out several clinics and concentrate on finding someone who knows what they’re doing instead of the price.
