I had a 30 minute appointment on Tuesday and it went well.
Before I went I felt the upperlip looked shadey in the middle.
I won’t be going for a few weeks but I mentioned at the end of the appointment how I felt about it, but I will wait to see what comes through again.
She said to me after the appointment we had, that I may not feel like that today, so when I went home, I was pleased to see it no longer looked dark in that area.
The whole area wasn’t cleared. I have tiny hairs that when together make it looks like a shadow. Unfortunately later after my post I felt it still does look shadowey but less than before. I do plan to go to one of the professionals on this forum to get it over and done with quickly.
At the moment it is more than a shadow - probably because I haven’t been for some time. I want to feel I would be able to walka round without bleaching (which I do get the results of at times) but right now there is a little too much hair for that, so I will book another appointment so more hairs can be removed, then bleach.
I’m not sure you can tell that there is “a little too much hair for that” without having tried it. You have fair skin, which is perfect because the hairs really won’t show up that much once bleached.
It also helps with the electrolysis as the electrologist can see which hairs are actually growing and target those first.
I only think if I stand in the sun (and I have seen a lot of sun recently) and it is bleached, it will show up a lot. I guess I should take the plunge and buy some. Do you dab it on when you put bleach on, to make t less noticeable?
Ok, well personally I don’t think you need to worry about that too much. When was the last time we had that kind of sun here in the lovely U.K?
And even when it is sunny, when you’re actually outside in that kind of sun, people don’t generally look right at you at that closely when they speak to you.
In most lighting conditions, the hair just doesn’t show up very much. For the times when it does, I still think it’s preferable to being able to see dark hairs all the time, which make the skin look dull and grey as well.
The boots one comes it two tubes (mix small amounts in equal quantities in the supplied tray and mix with the spatula). I put it on with the spatula and cover the area well because you need to make sure you cover the hairs sufficiently that they all bleach. You may find that you need to do the sides of the face and chin as well, so it’s all the same. If you don’t like it, it will go back to normal in a few weeks, and gradually, so it won’t look strange.
The other day, I was on the tube and an attractive woman came on. She ended up standing near me and I was admiring her attractiveness and clear skin. Then she turned her head and the light caught the blonde hairs on her cheeks. It didn’t take away from her looks at all. Additionally, had the hairs been black, they would have been noticeable all the time.
She stuck in my mind because her hairs were about the same density, thickness and length as my own; making me realise what my hairs probably looked like to other people. And ya know, it wasn’t so bad
I went to Linda yesterday because I was told my normal electrologst won’t be in until later.
I booked 30 mins - 45 minds because I didn’t know how long it would take as I wanted more work done.
We ended up taking 45 minutes and we first worked on the eyebrows to the point that it looks like hardly anythng is left.
We also worked on the upper lip and say I had booked another ten minutes, I’m sure I would feel the same but it doesn’t matter as although I can see hairs there aren’t many or are not noticeable.
I also asked to work on my chin which I normally am concerned about and it looks so clear! I have never seen my chin so clear before. I know she was targetting hairs which no one else has done and it worked out great.
I am very happy with Linda and feel she really did achieve a clearance (even if a few hairs were left behind).
Near the beginning she did ask me if it was painful to which I answered no. She was suprised because she said she’s doing it at the highest setting which is stated on my card which is normally done on me. I usually do find it quite painful on the eyebrows area but I didn’t find it painful at all. She increased the galvanic after that a bit.
Also, I asked her about nose hairs, some which I think are easy to see. She told me they are tiny, normal facial hairs and if I have electrolysis done there it may do more damage to the skin than good because they are shallow and better to leave it in her opinion. I didn’t mind that but I thought maybe some of you on here would disagree although I’m not sure.
I disagree, but as I have said many times, we electrologists are all different in that we have different skills, vision aids, epilators and probe types and sizes. I routinely do this area with no problem other than it is more ouchy for the client. My really sensitive clients order a small tube of topical anesthetic just for this area and they apply it before they come or they apply right in my office if we have another area to work on so the numbing can take affect.
You have to go along with whatever is comfortable for her. If the hairs are too small and light, probably no one see’s them anyway?? Ask some of your friends if they see the hair when you are sitting across the table. Your men friends will really strain to try and see any hair. Men mostly don’t understand what we women are talking about in regards to such hair. They are so cute when they show their puzzled faces, trying to understand what you are talking about.
Yeah, those areas worry me sometimes but not as much, because I plan to get electrolysis done from someone on this forum sooner or later anyway, where I can get a true judgement of it.
So, I had a appointment last week but I suppose although hair has reduced I still feel like there is a long way to go.
I went to a salon to have a facial and the lady threaded the hairs on my face without me realising. What a huge difference it made!
At the electrolysis place I did mention to the first practitioner to remove hairs from above the main shape of the eyebrow as it looks messy but she said it will make it look too thin and it doesn’t look good. Well when it was threaded it looked really neat and I didn’t really get a reaction.
It is kind of sad to see how much of a difference threading has made to me, and confidence, but it’s not something I would consider doing again for the sole reason of why I have been on this forum from the start. I believe my electrolysis package has almost come to the end so I don’t think I will return there, which makes my next stop Spain. Let’s see how this part goes.
Western beauticians don’t generally mess with the top part of the brow when they do hair removal i.e. waxing.
However, Eastern and Middle Eastern nearly always do, partly because they can get the precision with the threading method. And with generally much thicker brows, women from these region prefer this look.
If you like the look, it would be easy to maintain with any electrologist as all they would need to do is remove the hairs as soon as they start growing back in. You do need to be careful otherwise with what you remove with electrolysis as it may well never come back.
Also, I just want to mention in regards to this and some other posts by members who comment about how much work has been done. If the electrologist is working at 5-10 hairs/min (which is a decent speed) and the client is still not getting the clearance desired in the time frame allocated, it just means that the client is not spending a sufficient amount of time on the table!
