Met something weird. What could be the reason of tattoo burned?

For the safety, the tiny tattoo is covered with two layers of tapes. (Tattoo is not big, just a design of an English word, so covered it fully with tapes)
During the treatment, the handpiece is not near the tattoo, and the patient did not feel any discomfort.
Two days later , she texted that the small part of tattoo is bleeding

I m wondering if there is something went wrong, she supposed to feel pain on the tattoo area, is that correct?

I agreed. So this is very confusing, maybe other reasons caused the bleeding
