I have not found much about Mediostar here and thus wanted to ask if anybody had any experience with it. It was my first treatment today at 36 j/cm2 underarms and bikini, and 38 j/cm2 full legs. Does anybody know if these settings are effective or not? And also, I have a choice of maybe switching to Alexandrite laser, is there any comparison in between these two?
Looks like the Mediostar is a diode laser. The 36J doesn’t mean much without knowing the spot size (according to the specifications, for the highest spot size, max is 44J and for the smallest, max is 210J). Depending on your skin type (namely I-III), an alexandrite would be more effective for you.
Skin type II, 12 mm spot size. It hurts like hell in underarms and bikini, but i’m not sure if pain is a sign of effectiveness. Thanx for an advise, i’ll really think about switching to alexandrite. I suppose there won’t be a problem to switch from one to another
It’s a diode as mentioned. Please let us know the spot size. Even for a 9mm spot size, the settings would be ok though. See how shedding goes in 3 weeks.
also that i remembered were indicators 150 - 36(38) - 0.5, if it gives more info in addition to spot size 12 mm and skin type II
Those are decent settings on a diode. Let us know how shedding goes in 3 weeks. That will tell a lot.

Seems like there is no effect 
(it’s been about 3.5 weeks since the first session). I might switch to Alexandrite laser
Either the hair is not coarse enough or they didn’t use compression. I’m not 100% sure if this machine needs it, but other diodes like LightSheer do.
