I’m looking for electrolysis on the scrotum, base of penis and perianal area. I’ve ruled out laser as my scrotum skin is quite dark and hair ranges from almost blond to dark red, with dark red hair in the perianal area. I’m generally quite hairless though. Has anyone had electrolysis in this area – how was it – how many sessions did it take. Can anyone recommend anyone near Manchester, UK. Might be willing to go further (UK only) if they have a very good reputation for this area
Its taken me 3-4 years of every 2 weeks, about a year worth was once a month. Its worth every bit of time put into it though.
I cant recommend anyone though, too far away! Good luck!
Yes, Ozzy, I have found that electrolysis on the scrotum takes longer than any other area and we are forced to work much slower. The tissue needs to be held taut and this will also slow us down. We waste a bit of time looking for the hairs in the wrinkly folds. The scrotum is actually the most difficult area for most electrologists to treat and it will require lots of patience. I think it is one of the reasons why so few electrologists will work in this area.
This is the only area where I have found prior tweezing to dramatically delay electrolysis success. So, if you are tweezing this area, stop now.
For those who have done excessive tweezing on the scrotum, seek out an electrologist who also has the ability to administer blend.
Yes, Arlene this is challenging. Thank my lucky stars that my surgeon administers local for this. I cannot imagine it being done any other way. I have to tell you that I find this area extremely easy to do. Healing is super fast and there is never any mark afterward (because of the tissue type). With three clearings only and about 4 - 6 hours total. Seriously (I just checked my numbers on 10 patients)! I won’t be posting any photos!
Michael, if you can completely clear the scrotum in 3 clearings of a total of 4 - 6 hours, I am going to send you all of my pre-op TG clients. Since it is almost impossible to find electrologists to treat this area, I beg you to give a class!
Funny, my (first) post didn’t “make it?”
Anywhooo … I’m ready!
Those figures are correct for me. I have found that the doctors recommend forming a “rectangle” going down the middle the “scrots” so that the newly formed labia has hair on it. (The scrot hair becomes the labia. And that skin is exactly the same tissue on both men and women … amazing really.) Some patients want the hair all gone, but others prefer the “natural look.”
BTW, I saw a “reassignment surgery” in Holland by Dr. Philip Lamaker (A’dam). Yep, I fainted! When they revived me, I was okay and could watch the whole procedure. It’s amazingly NOT complicated! I guess all the “parts” are already there … men and women are not all that much different. I’d better stop writing, I’m getting light-headed! Seriously.

Wish I had gone to you in CA 3+ years ago! I am now clear and only need the minor touch-ups at this point, but your speedy work sounds impressive. I think another factor is that the scrotum is actually a significantly large region of skin; stretch one out and have a look (!) and you will likely see 6"x6" on each side - that’s half a square foot, so no wonder it takes careful/tricky work to get it all done - especially for those like me who want to be ENTIRELY smooth!
Now that I am ready to extend my work further south, I wonder how you experienced folks attack the perineum and gluteal trapped areas? How do you arrange you clients and get access without either of you getting tired?
