I am looking to have my eyebrows done, I have a massive unibrow and after plucking for about 5 years now I am ready to try electrolysis. I would just like to clear the area between eyes, not over do it and end up looking feminine. I want to do this right and go to someone who has experience treating male eyebrows. I am willing to move anywhere in Illinois or close in surrounding states to have this done. Thanks.
Are you close to Chicago? I have someone in mind.
This is an easy area to do. Go for it.
Currently I am in central Illinois but I am willing to relocate to have this done by a profesional.
I don’t think relocating is necessary unless you were going to do that anyways. There should be enough electrologists to choose from in your area. And you can clip the hairs you want gone and ask them to treat only those. Or use a pencil to indicate the area. You don’t need to rely on the person doing it to decide how much you want gone and the shape if you don’t want to. Check out the “how to find an electrologist” sticky post on this forum and find a few to have consultations with.
I used to live in Urbana and my mother had a skilled electrologist there. I will ask her for that person’s name. Maybe she’s still in practice?

I don’t know her, but she is in your “neighborhood” and is listed in the AEA roster. You could check out her set up and get a consultation and sample treatment.

I read a very good article in the AEA Electrolysis publication by
Kelly Morrissey

I really enjoyed her article and she treats very difficult cases so she would be well qualified, I think, to treat your eyebrows.
You can go to www.electrology.com to find an electrologist, as well.
Hopefully, rosemouse (cute name) can offer a recommended electrologist for you. So you don’t have to re-locate, start with any and all electrologists in your locale and work outward. I can’t imagine re-locating for electrolysis treatment. The most important thing is to realize what the difference is between a professional treatment and an amatuer treatment. Of course, reading hairtell will get you armed before you start the process.

wow. great post Dee
“You don’t need to rely on the person doing it to decide how much you want gone and the shape if you don’t want to.”, thats a good point that I didnt really think of, marking the area where I want hairs to be treated with a pencil sound like a very good idea. Now my biggest concern is, I have been lurking on these forums for a while now before joining and have read stories about scarring. And from what I understand it is usually caused by errors made by the person performing the electrolysis. This really concerns me and makes me nervous. I really don’t want to end up with permanent scars on my forehead, but still want to have electrolysis done. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to reply I really appriciate the help and if anyone has any more suggestions and/or referals of good experienced elecrolysistts in the northern Illinois area it would be greatly appreciated.
