male chest hair - even reduction??

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster here!

What a great website to find - thank you all for your invaluable information.

My story briefly - white male, 30. I think skin type III with dark brown hair - basically Robbie Williams type hair/skin. What has always bothered me is my beard is very harsh and my chest hair grew all the way up to meet it. I realise some people dont care about such things but it has really bugged me over the years - cannot remember last time i wore a v-neck of any kind!

Anyway, a year ago i got the front of my neck lasered 4 times over a 6 month period and the results are great - i don’t recall shaving or plucking the area since! What I would like to do is have maybe 1 or 2 sessions on my chest/stomach to reduce the hair. My concern is that it would look unnatural/uneven. Does anyone have experience of doing this?

The place i go to is good - Cambridge skin and laser.

Thanks all in advance.

The V-Neck conundrum!! I remember that, and my ex-girlfriend hated them! I got electrolysis on my upper chest and broke up with her, needless to say; i wear v-necks at my convenience.

Laser is a bit unpredictable in how it will kill the hair. I’d give you the answer i usually do is for precise work do electrolysis, but that wouldn’t suffice. It’s really up to personal preference, if you (precisely) know what you want done, find a professional electrologist in your area. Laser to me is kind of chancing it but it is good for reduction!

'82 definitely a good year btw.

Yes, it’s definitely possible to get an even reduction as long as the tech is competent and overlaps well. If you see any missed spots at 3 weeks post treatment, make sure to get a touchup. It’s especially important if you’re looking for an even reduction. I’d go with a Yag laser possibly in order to target the most coarse hair.

I have had a few treatments on the chest. One of which at a laser centre which burned me, and the “nurse” moved the laser head so far between zaps that the effect was like a patchwork quilt. (I didnt go back there.)

But one treatment does very little,so there was no long term patchyness (if thats a word).

It would be sensible to ask about retouching, as some laser places dont do them as standard for free. Though other than patch work example, most missing areas tend to be lines for hair missed.
