I am considering doing electrolysis on my face/neck to thin out my beard.
To begin this post, I am a male that is looking to keep my masculine look (not trying to do M2W or be completely bare on my face).
The reasons I am considering electrolysis is that my facial hair is thick, black, and there’s a lot of it especially in the goatee area (dense). I tend to get razor burn in certain sections and aesthetically do not like the look of the “shadow” when I’m clean shaven.
What I would ideally achieve is the ability to grow a beard when I want, and for the majority of time that I am clean shaven, not have to deal w/ inflammation from shaving (razor burn) or have a very dark shadow on my face from the hair follicles. I realize that there will need to be some shadow since my facial hair grows in black. I also do not want my beard to be “patchy”
I would like to ask the HT group if any guys on here used electrolysis for a similar goal as mine? If so, can you please share you experience if you haven’t done so already and provide pictures so I can see the before and after?
Is it realistic to think that this goal is possible and achievable?
Lastly, while some have recommended doing a full clearance on my face then gradually treating some areas more than other, with work schedule it will be too noticeable to do my whole face - I’d like to keep it less noticeable I’m having work done.
Instead I was thinking of lowering the hair line on my cheeks, making my mustache and chin area less dense hair (keeping some just not as much), lowering the hair line in my chin area.
