Magnifying Loupe and hair type

Hello,
I am a student at Electrology School in CA. I have 2 questions.

Are there any signs to identify the hair in late anlagen stage by just looking at it?

What is the best magnification and working distance to choose when buying a magnifying loupe. Any particular brand?

Working Distance 34 cm. 43 cm (which You find more easily) appears to me too much in man situations. Brand depending on Your budget.

Hairs get paler as the get older. So You usually can distinguish relatively between anagen and telogen hairs, but not uniquely an less certain between the various “stages” of the actual continuum during the development form anagen to telogen.
