Magnification

Hi,

I am one step away from starting my DIY electrolysis. The only thing I’m missing is a magnifying lamp.

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive, yet effective magnifying device(any type).

BTW I will be not working on myself, I found a buddy in my area to work with.

Thanks in advance!!

I’ve a magnifying lamp but I only use it for light. Trying to hit a target with it kind of drives me crazy.

Do you wear glasses? Maybe a clip-on system might be a solution for you.

Scrolling that link down shows up some head loupes. Optically these are more or less equivalent to the clip ons, and they are affordable as well.

I use this one, its pretty good… I wouldn’t recommend relying on the integrated CFL light as your only light source, but it is a good supplement when used with a high powered LED lamp. The reason I like this one is because its base/arm design is better than some others I have seen in this price range, easy to adjust and holds well in any position (I had to return the first one I bought from amazon because it was poorly designed). It comes with 3 and 5 diopter lenses.

Of course, you can get better magnification from loupes… but I haven’t seen any decent loupes for $100

Hi,
Yes I do wear glasses, but I also have a pair of contact lenses
Anyways, I came across this website
http://www.telesightmagnifiers.com/catalog/c17_p1.html

Do any of these seem reasonable for the job?
Thanks a bunch!

Which is quite small - 3 dioptres is 1.75 fold magnification, 5 dioptres is 2.25 fold. My first loup lamp had 8 dioptres (3 fold magnification) and an LED light source which unfortunately died within a few months.

And seriously: we want to do professional work. This requires good magnification and good light sources. We do not want to win the contest of being able to treat fine hair with simple visual equipment.

Moreover we are investing thousands of EURos or Dollars in high quality epilators and possibly a luxury treatment table and do even consider saving money on the visual equipment? Ain’t that inconsequent?

Thanks for the advice all

I’m now considering a 5x (16 diopter) magnifying lamp. Hopefully that will serve me well.
