LUMPY UNDER CHIN SKIN AFTER ELECTROLYSIS

Hello can anyone give me advice.
I have very lumpy skin under my chin. I have been using the ONE TOUCH since July 04,I have removed almost all my unwanted face hair(PCO) with the help of the wonderful advice I have luckly found on your site, the sides and lip are beautfully smooth without almost any marks, a bit of hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation which is fading, BUT my problem is I do not know what to do about the lumpy skin I have under my chin. DO you think a DERMABRASION CLOTH would help
I would be grateful for any advice.

Without seeing you it would be hard to give you any advice on your situation, but you may be best served by use of Tea Tree Oil, Tend Skin and Aloe on a daily basis until the situation clears up.

Without a picture it is hard to say what your best, most cost effective solution would be. I would not just go sanding away on the face however. Leave that to the professionals.

James, thank you for your reply, I always take note when you give advice. Sadly I can not uses TEA TREE OIL because I have very greasy skin and when I use anything with an oil base on my face I break out in spots,I will try theTend, but I thought that was for ingrown hairs which I do not have.

Tend Skin is an exfoliant agent. You may find that you can use Tea Tree Oil, especially if you get a high grade version.

Thank You for your kind words.

James, once again let me thank you for all this really important information,I shall buy Tend immediately I can find it for sale in the UK.
James I only started on the DO-IT-YOURSELF route because sadly I found professional electrolysis would only do flash on me and being mixed race it left marks on my face which took ten years to fade and all the hairs grew back.

I wish I had found this site before, I would have found a way to book you for maybe a six month period(staying in the US for an extended period)it would have been worth every penny).

James I have about 100 very stubborn hairs left, I have hit them at least 5 times on three sittings, any advice on what I should do would be REALLY WELCOME.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP.

have you used galvanic for like 1.5 minutes each ? they have GOT to die on that! right James?

Ivelina thanks for your reply, I have used it for 60 seconds at the highest setting, twice in one sitting. I will try one hair for 90 seconds and see what happens(tomorrow).

wow… maybe it’s not regrowth then. maybe it’s just more hair in the same area? do you think? did you wait about 6-8 months to see and make sure that it’s the SAME hair that is still growing?

Ivelina thanks again for your reply,I think I was not very clear when I made the statement about the remaining stubborn hairs,I have not been able to remove them yet, even though I have treated them with the one-touch on six occasions, 60 seconds duration for each hair, going in twice in each sitting.
I have read on this site that there are some stubborn hairs that the one-touch cannot remove.
I have burnt out 3 one-touch units since I started on this HUGE TASK, but I must say it really does work (it can scar you if you are not very careful)
Ivelina have you used the one-touch? did it work for you?

Thank you for your help.

I read A LOT of web sites (there are also many yahoo groups for do-it-yourselfers) before i decided what to do about my hair problem. A lot of people have been successful with the One Touch, but they had to make many modifications and STILL everyone complained about the poor quality of the internal components of the unit.

So I decided not to bother with mods and burnt units and to purchase a used professional machine instead. I looked around on the web for a few months. It was not the easiest thing to find, but I ended up with several offers. I bought a Fischer SE4 and I’m VERY VERY happy with it.

I’ve only been playing with it for a few days however, so i cannot give you any feedback on the success of my self treatment. In any case, any mishaps will certainly be due to my lack of experience rather than the unit so it would not matter much to discuss them.

At the same time however, I know that realistically, i have to be treated by a professional for the bigger areas and those i cannot comfortably reach.

The more you know about electrolysis, the more you realize that going to a professional for the bulk of the work is really cost and time effective. Using the machine at home is both for fun and for those stray hairs that will inevitably be missed / will grow out in later years / or would not have been completely killed by the end of my treatment. That is why i got the machine, and not with the intention of using it to fully clear myself.

That’s my take on this whole process, and it’s based on a lot of research and reading. I’m a control freak, so I am completely incapable of trowing myself into anything with my eyes closed or even half open. I read and read and read and ask questions until I’m completely satisfied with the amount and veracity of the knowledge i have. All this research has led me to the above stated conclusions and decisions

I do hope this helps you make some decisions for yourself

Hello ivelina, thank you for that very informative reply.

I have read quite a bit about it too,I bought must of the books recommended on this site, but the more you read the more you realise this is a very difficult undertaking and it should really only be done by a trained person. Sadly I was forced down the do-it-yourself route, if I am honest, I am glad I have been slightly fool hardy and gone ahead, I will say one thing, I did consider buying a new pro machine
but I was too afraid that I might cause more damage with it than with the one-touch and I am almost certain I would.

I had a full beard and side of face hair (just like a man)in the end I needed to shave twice a day, my life had come to a full stop, even though I took all the meds it did not make any difference to the hair that was already there.

When I first started the do-it yourself I was so afraid, I was unable to do it for the 2 or 3 trys,I was dripping in persepiration. I did some more reading then went back and tried again, and thank god I got better and better at it.
I must say the only marks I have are under my chin, and I think this is lumpy because I plucked for about 10 years and under my chin always looked odd.

I hope all goes well with you efforts.

Constant plucking distorts the hair follicles, and can leave you with a curly empty gorge inside of your skin that is filled with necrotic tissue, and puss after treatment.

Just make sure that when you are leaving it in for so long that you are not overtreating yourself. If you can, hold the hair tight so that when it is treated, it slides out on its own. That will tell you that your treatment is over, and you can just leave the probe in for maybe 5 to ten seconds longer.

This is another reason it is better to have an electrolysis buddy. Someone else is better able to monitor the treatment reaction and keep you safe.

Hello James, thank you very much for this latest information.
Is necrotic tissue dead flesh under the skin,is there anything I can do about?
This is why I know this subject is a difficult subject to REALLY understand, even if you manage to grasp the practical removal part,it is hard to understand the theory,I have to read and re-read the books.
Thank god I have only the under chin problem left, but it does look very lumpy and bumpy, soon as I get the Tend I shall start using it (after the electrolysis scabs have fallen off)

THANK YOU JAMES

Yes, necrotic tissue is dead skin and other damaged internal structures. This is why Tea Tree Oil is recommended. It dissolves dead things without irritating live tissue. No one is sure why, it just does.

Some people like the scent, others hate the smell, and still others want to know what all the fuss it about. Either way, just put it on at night so that you will smell fresh in the morning as the product will have worked overnight, and no odor will be left.

If you still have any bumps after using the Tea Tree Oil for a week, you may want to try the Tend Skin (or mix up your own home batch) but you should be ok either way.

Hello James,

Once again I really do thank you for all this really IMPORTANT information.

When you say mix up my own batch, do you mean Tend and TEA TREE combined?

Would you be able to tell me a very good quality make of TEA TREE OIL.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Oh no, don’t mix Tend Skin and Tea Tree Oil together. I was talking about the home batch tend skin mixture of alcohol and aspirin and perhaps water that is discussed in the DIY section. Do Not Mix Tea Tree Oil with Tend Skin! That doesn’t mean you can’t use the products in tandem, but I am not advocating mixing the two in one bottle.

OK JAMES,VERY SORRY THAT I MISUNDERSTOOD.

I hope I did not give you heart failure. See what I mean about this being a difficult subject.
