I bought a Groupon for 6 sessions of underarms with a luminese laser. When I had gotten there I had already shaved and she asked what kind of hair I had and what color it was. I have light brown hair and I thought it was coarse but once she started she said it wasn’t coarse and adjusted the setting. She had it on low at first but I couldn’t feel it so she went up to 16 joules I think I could smell hair burning and it hurt a little bit. When we got done she said I was almost to the limit because the machine can only do 17joules total. Next time she wants me to bring in a photo of the hair so she can set the settings better. Does 16 joules seem like enough?
