Loyalty restored in American Laser Centers :)

In most cases, I would say that American Laser Centers is a very good organization. They have always given me decent prices, sometimes free bonus treatments, and always great service until now…

I have spent a good amount of money and treated every major part of my body with exception to my genital area. Recently I decided to start getting that area treated. So this morning, I called to get a quote. I was shocked at the cost. As it turns out, they charge a premium for the male genital bikini area. They quoted me $6000.00!

I asked why it was so high and as I suspected the sales person said it’s mostly because the female technicians are uncomfortable treating that area. I can understand how treating the male area would make female technicians uncomfortable, but if that’s the issue, then don’t offer it.

Does ALC have a suggestion box?

Maybe they should hire a male technician(s)for the male genital area and cut the price. These appear to be ridiculous prices, by the way.

I went to a private clinic rather than one of these chains, and the female technician had no problem treating males in this area. I guess it’s just a matter of professionalism.

That’s a pretty outrageous price, so I’d definitely look elsewhere. I’d also tip my hat towards electrolysis instead, as that worked for me in this area, where laser did not (GentleLase), even though laser was successful elsewhere for me.

i agree that you should find another place for this treatment. you can also find a better laser to suit your needs that what that chain offers anyways, so possibly get even better not just cheaper results. that area is usually easiest to treat for most.

Well as it turns out American Laser Centers has restored my loyalty. I called another place to see if they would treat that area. It did not seem like it would be a problem for their laser technician to treat me. Their quote turned out to be much more reasonable ($1020)compared to ALC, but I would have to drive to Austin and their laser is very old.

I called back ALC and spoke this time to the head sales person to tell her I felt they were being unreasonable in their price compared to the other place. She told me that the person who quoted me did not know that I was one of their most loyal customers. Immediately she gave me a great deal!

It was not quite as good as the other place but it was an affordable price. They also threw in laser treatments for 2 additional areas of my choice, and 6 velasmooth (cellulite removal) treatments in the clinic. Although I don’t think guys get cellulite, that may change in the future. it’s just that I have bought packages for every treatment they offer, so why not. One drawback is that I don’t really need any more areas treated, but if it should ever arise…

So once again, ALC has restored my loyalty.

To MorganPerry,

Given that you are close enough to Austin to consider driving there, which American Laser Center do you go to? And more interesting, would you mind telling us what prices you pay?

Just curious.

I think this just shows that ALC sets arbitrary prices not competitive. it was no big deal to come down in price since they were overcharging to begin with.

just like how every prospective customer “wins” the discount on an american laser center package.

for you it was for being a loyal customer. for me it was a “student discount.”

Yes it’s true that ALC set their price very high and that they eventually came down in price to $2000 to be exact. In the end I felt that it was a decent price. Maybe they just told me that it was because of my loyalty, or they may tell you it’s some other reason. I am still satisfied.

Additionally, considering that I can go to any ALC clinic in the country is important to me, and I have visited about 3 of them already. They also do give me priority over

$2000 is on the higher end of things. Bikini area is usually $100-200 per treatment depending on how much you want removed. what machine do they use on you at every center? can you share what the results have been like overall percent removal-wise?
