Lower Back Pain

Because I live in a rural area, I have to get the most out of each electrolysis visit 200+ miles away from me. This means that I have multiple hours on a table, and my back hurts so badly about one hour in that I really struggle through the remaining hours to stay in one position. I have to get up and stretch my back a lot, or I’m in tears by the end.

Have any of your clients had really bad backs like this? What have you done for them? I have tried a rolled up towel under the knees with a small pillow in my lower back. I have also talked them into inclining my head slightly, but they seem hesitant to do it further… it probably makes it harder to get to the hairs on my face.

Thank you,
Meg

I have different sized pillows, covered in “leather”, to position people. My head of the table will incline for people who may have vertigo or who can’t lie flat. Yes, sometimes that is a struggle for me when their head is not flat, but I make do, by having them lie on their side, for example.

Some people weigh too much for my table, so I scoot an armless chair next to my work area and insert to the best of my ability, but I can only sustain such a strained position for 15 or 20 minutes worth of work. That’s better than nothing.

So, whether you have a bad back or other challenges, it all depends on whether an electrologist will contort and arrange things to meet your needs.

Thank you, Dee! Maybe getting on my side would help ease my pain, but still give the technician access. Sitting up (or even just more inclined) would be heavenly, but I can see how that would be exhausting!

Also, I have been following this forum closely as I try to find the best electrolysis experience I can get, and you have been so active and helpful on here. I wish I lived closer to technicians whom I could say the same thing about… lol.

Best,
Meg
