Low Gentlelase settings - Should I continue?

I have gone to New Look Skin Center in Glendale for 3 treatments - Upper legs, full bikini, and 2 under arms treatments(Summer Special)I’ve had shedding after 1 week with each treatment and the hair has come back finer after each treatment in about 7-8 weeks. So from what I’ve read here, the settings are WAY to low. I am a type 1, dark hair. I think the settings are at 9 J in the bikini, 10 J for legs.
From the link below, my settings are 9/10 where the 12 is. I think the other setting are the same.

I went to Epione 10-12 years ago and had awesome results! My arm hair is still gone, like 99.999% It was the Alexandrite laser for 4 treatments and unknown settings. I have 3 treatments left at new look (Groupon - 6 for ~250 for upper legs). I have asked each time to up the setting with no luck.

I’ve read that the danger with getting treatments with low settings can make the hair finer and make laser treatments more difficult. Should I ditch out on New Look and just suck it up and go over to Epione? From what I remember they were pretty pricey, but that was 10 years ago.

Thanks all!!!

If they’re doing low settings now and won’t up it, then you’re wasting your time and money, so it’s not worth going.

Here’s a list of LA recommendations:

I also can recommend someone in Costa Mesa, but that may be too far for what you’re willing to drive.

Thanks Brenton!
The groupon was for multiple treatments and I have 3 left. Is it worth it to go back for the remaining and see if I have results? I just don’t want to hurt my chances of success when going to a “real” place  Most likely back to Epione.
I still think I’ve got my money’s worth at this point - I basically got each treatment for the same price as a wax job.

If your settings are at 9/10, I guarantee you that you won’t have results. You can do it if you want, but I think you’re wasting your time, and taking lots of time away from getting real results.

I hope after 10 years, Epione will continue to use high settings on you. Some places change policies after those years, but if they have your old settings on record, they may continue to use those.

Good luck!

THANKS!!! Off to Epione it is for a consult
