Looking for some info

Hi I am new to this forum and am looking for some information for laser hair removal in Richmond, VA. I have done my research and an inclined to go with a gentleLASE removal system (skin type III) but I have not been able to find a practicioner in the area. I have found several that employ LightSheer but would only like to use that if necessary.

I guess what I am looking for is anyone in the area that can recommend a reputable place to go where. Any insight would be greatful. Thanks.

Don’t be too quick to dismiss the Lightsheer. You may find the Lightsheer to be preferable for type III skin. You are more likely to have scabbing with an alexandrite on type III skin. Also beware the 18mm spot size with the Gentlelase. It limits the fluence to 20J and not much hair will be removed at that fluence level.

Thanks for the info. I will do some more research and hopefully find a reputable establishment around here.

LightSheer would be fine as well. It’s more important to find the best tech than choose between those 2 lasers. They’re both good.

Finding the best tech really has very little to how the results are. You can teach a monkey how to operate a laser machine and still get the same results as a experiance tech, except you would need to get more reshoots.

when I say an experienced tech, that means they know the most about hair removal in general, know how to kill hair best due to experience of doing it and research, know what the best settings to use to your skin type, know to do test spots to make sure to select the more effective settings etc for treatment, are careful not to miss spots, offer touch-ups when they have missed too much, know how to treat any side effects if any occur, and most importantly are personnally interested in getting you the best results (i.e. actually interested in your progress and constantly thinking about how to get you better results if there is a way to do that). so yes, the BEST technician is really what makes the difference between those 2 lasers in this sense. “best” is not defined here by being able to push a button well <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
