Sorry can I just jump in here as Im wondering about getting a machine myself … if someone buys a second hand Apilus machine, can you still buy the parts for them from Dectro even though you didn’t get the machine from them? Guessing yes? And the Platinum has been continued right? But parts available for another few years yet? Many thanks!
You can buy directly from Dectro only if you are certified electrologist, otherwise they will not sell to you anything.
Yes, the Platinum is discontinued but the parts are available from Dectro(again-need certification).
Sorry Dimi this hasnt been my experience. I was able to order a memory card, ballet gold probes, and a manual for my SM-500 before I was ever certified directly from Dectro. I understand they do sometimes ask now, but I dont think they have ever seen my certificate ever.
If you buy a Dectro epilator second hand from another party, call Dectro and register it ( give the serial number) and tell them you bought it from so and so. Dectro may need to see a letter or a receipt from the seller, as well. All will be fine if you need to contact them in the future.
I, too, believe that you can’t buy an epilator from Dectro if you are not a student of electrology or an electrologist.
The Platinums CAN be fixed now, but in about 6 or 7 years, that will not be possible. That’s why many are are upgrading to the XCell’s.

I tried to buy probes from Dectro before my certification and they refused to sell to me. That’s why I bought them from Texas Electrolysis in US.
Also I wanted to buy Ballet tapered probes from other company and they asked me to send by email my certifications, to be able to open account for me.
Maybe you were lucky or because you ordered online from other province or their policy is changed.
