looking for a used electrolysis unit

Hi

I am looking for an inexpensive used electrolysis unit. fischer, gentronics etc. I am open it just has to be able to do electrolysis/ thermolysis and blend you can e mail me at [email protected] if you have one you would like to sell

Thank you
Vero

It would help if you revealed your price range. We have a few people here who have units for sale, but what you can get for $500 is not the same as what you would get for $2,000

I have a price range of about 500 to 700 and I have a gentronics unit I would like to get another but I am open to other brands I want a good unit for a good price but have had an unbelievably difficult time with people changing prices etc. Please dont suggest that I contact jim jenson with gentronics or west texas elec supply. I want to buy from a professional.

Well, the market for these is a strange thing.

A machine only becomes available when a practitioner upgrades, or goes out of business. If the practitioner who used the machine is selling the machine, and is staying in the business, she or he knows that the best chance of selling at the best price will be at an electrolysis meeting, seminar, or school, where there will be folks who value the item, and for whom it would represent an upgrade from what they have, or what they could afford to buy new, or would be an identical back-up for the machine they are using now.

The only reason you ever find cheap machines on E-bay is people who don’t know much about the business selling things that they either never used much, if at all, and/or people who are selling things that were not theirs to start with, or people who bought one, found it too hard to do, and are now reselling to recoup some of their cash.

The cheapest price you ever get for an electrolysis machine will have an ebay add that starts, “this was in my grandmother’s attic. We found it while we were cleaning up after her funeral. I know she used to do this, but I can’t say what this machine really does, or if we have all the parts, and if it works perfectly. I turned it on and everything seems to light up. Item is being sold with no reserve.”

Having said that, I will let you know if I hear about anyone closing up soon. Gentronics units are hard to come by, so you will most likely be getting something like a Clarablend, Fischer, Hinkel, Instantron, Sterex or an older Apilus or Silhouet-Tone.

I have seen Fischer and Gentronics units sell in that price range.

Without giving away too many of my eBay “secrets”, here is a way to help locate a machine on eBay with a minimum of effort. Since many make and model names are unique to electrolysis (Gentronics, Clareblend, Instantron etc.) just doing a search on those names will reveal machines by those makes or models, if they are listed on eBay. (For example, search eBay regularly for just the word “Apilus” and an Apilus machine or 2 will appear occasionally.) Even if people don’t know what their electrolysis machine is or even what it does or is used for, people will put the make and/or model name printed on the front of the machine in the title of their listing. (eg. “Unknown Gentronics electronic Device”, or “Apilus Hair Remover Machine”.)

Now, take this knowledge and use eBay’s email notification system, so that every time someone lists something with “Apilus” or “Gentronics” or “Instantron” etc. in the title you get an email notification and a link to it, so that you don’t have to constantly go to eBay and do a search. Just set up the search notification for whatever names you want and just wait for the email notifications.

Unfortunately, it won’t work for a name not unique to electrolysis like “Fischer” or “Hinkel”, but you can try searching on “Fischer Electrolysis” or “Fischer Epilator” etc.

Thank you both very much for your advice I truly do appreciate it!! I found someone who is upgrading and is willing to sell me a analog gentronics with a multiple needle rack for $500. I think that is a great price! and I have committed to buy it. I don’t want to count my eggs before they hatch but this woman seems to be trustworthy and I have spoken to her on the phone several times. She is willing to take payment via pay pal and I feel good about it. The other people I was dealing with were very impersonal and would only contact me through e mail. I should have known then that I could not trust them. Anyway I can’t wait until my new unit arrives and I don’t have to haul my old one back and forth. Thanks again for your help
