London, UK - Electrolysis for men

Hello,

Total newbie here! I am a male based in London, England and have been searching for the right Electrolysis clinic for a while. I went to my most local BIAE endorsed clinic for a patch test and then a half an hour try out.

This was my first experience - I’ve never had any laser or electrolysis treatment before so I’m not sure how to filter out the duds and the scams from the real deal.

Does anybody have any recommendations in London?

My experience from the place I tried out. It was about 45£ for the half an hour session. She explained to me quite well about the process and talked about not plucking the hair rather than releasing it after the bolt.
Though my only problem with her is that I feel that in the picture you can see some stubble which tends to happen to me a lot os the hair is quite weak and breaks when being plucked? or am I just being paranoid?

Does this look normal? Would you stick with this electrolysis centre or should I look for somewhere new?

post treatment area looks normal. Since the area did not have a complete clearance it’s hard to see or tell what stubble you’re referring to. Some hairs may break off it’s not completely avoidable.

Can I ask how you felt when she was extracting the hairs? Really, the indication of a successfully treated follicle is on the electrologist’s side but the client can judge to a degree as well. I have experienced a number of practitioners where you can clearly feel they are ‘coaxing’ the hair out when gripped with tweezers and removing it. The hair doesn’t just slide out with minimal effort.

It’s difficult to tell if the short hairs are new hairs coming through that she didn’t treat, or if they were broken.

For me, I’d want to know if the work is going to be effective before committing time and money and the best way do this is having a proper test patch but it does then require a wait of about three months to see the results.
