Lingering horrible burnt hair smell after electrolysis

I had a 1hr session of electrolysis today around my neckline and ever since the treatment about 7 hours ago now I’ve had this lingering burnt hair smell coming from my neck area where I was treated.

I washed gently with water but the smell hasn’t gone away.

If I dab my neck with my hand and bring it to my nose it really stinks, it smells like a week old ashtray mixed with garbage.

Is this normal?

I have never heard of this. It is possible that your skin has been burned by overtreatment. What is the condition of your skin?

A little bit red, a little but bumpy. Not very sore.

You have a few options that can help remove burnt hair smell:

  1. Rub some 100% aloe vera gel with no additives on it, then rinse.
  2. Rub some coconut oil on the area, then rinse.
  3. Add some baking soda to a mild liquid soap or shampoo and clean the area, then rinse.
  4. Rub some lemon juice on the area, then rinse.

I’d wait on the last two until a while after treatment, as they can cause irritation.

Is the burnt smell a sign of a poorly skilled practitioner?

We cant tell that
