Lighting Issue

Hello!

I am currently having electrolysis on my face (thicker, blonde hairs on cheeks, sides, chin and upper lip) done. My electrologist says she is having to hunt for hairs a little harder now and I can definitely see a difference in the total number of hairs on my face which I am very happy about. BUT…I have noticed that once I get home and look in the mirror (with either artificial or sunlight) BEHIND me, I notice a lot more hair than what I thought I had when the light was hitting my face directly. It kind of reminds me of a teenage boy’s face that hasn’t shaved for awhile. So my question is, are there any techniques for the electrologist to use with the lighting mechanism (she uses a magnification mirror with light) placed behind the treatment area? Maybe the client is sitting rather than lying down?

Have any of the electrologists on here tried anything like that? I know it may sound weird, but it’s just irking me! LOL!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Wantsresults:

Are these very fine “vellus” type hairs?

Everyone has fine fuzzy hair which if looked at in the
sunlight at a certain angle are visible but not so to
the naked eye.

Usually the electrologist does not remove these hairs since
there are too many and it will look unnatural. That plus
they are not visible to the naked eye.

I have some lighter colored facial hair which is hard to see
sometimes, and occasionally my electrologist will miss the
one. Generally if I can feel the hair with my fingertips
I will point it out to her. I will also point out any
that I can see with my naked eye which may have
some color to them.
