lighting and magnification

What is good lighting and magnification for fine, light hair?

I’m not sure what magnification my electrologist uses, and she uses one of those lights that make it look like the sun is shinning on my face. She gets a lot of hair each visit, but she also does a lot of searching, and there is no searching to be done. Sometimes I think the “sunlight” she uses makes the hair harder to see because after my visits there are some really obvious hairs that should have been removed. I’ll ask her about her equipment but I wanted to know what some of the experts think, or anyone else for that matter.

The light she is using is the light I use and it is very helpful. Problem is, what I think is normal woman facial hair is not always what the client thinks is normal woman facial hair. I am very patient with these clients just because the hair bothers them a great deal and I have been hired by them to damage the hair follicles that cause them angst. I may not agree that the hair needs to be treated, but will stay objective for their sake. I can see the hair to treat it, but don’t always choose the hair because it is normal peach fuzz, in my opinion. Maybe she see’s the hair as well and is ignoring it. That’s what we are taught in school.

One thing I allow in my practice is for the client to bring her magnification mirror and help me out, so to speak. Call me crazy or kind? One of my clients actually looks and then makes a slight indentation with her finger nail under the group of hairs or hair that she wants out so we stay are in sync with her expectations. It works well for me, but don’t expect too many electrologists to bend that far. They are the boss as to how they conduct their practices and have every right to refuse to treat you if they think you are being unreasonable in your expectations to remove blond hair.
