Lighten Hair

Hello,

I am showing pictures of my arm hair which I have been trying to deal with for the past few years (when it began growing in earnest)…I do trim them, so they do look at bit unnatural. I am wondering, does anyone have any suggestions how I might lighten the hair? The color is reddish brown (interspersed with weird blonde hairs), and my hair is turned white by bleach pretty easily. I don’t, however, wish to bleach my entire arm, I would simply like to lighten the hairs…Would peroxide work, or would it just turn an ugly shade of orange? what about combining peroxide and lemon juice? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks.

Can’t see the picture.

You could try hydrogen peroxide on a small area and see how that works and to note how your skin reacts. Combining lemon juice with peroxide might be a little too harsh for your skin.

Mate, you think that’s bad, you should see my arms.

sorry, for some reason using the URL button on this forum doesn’t work for me…here is the link to be copy/pasted, if you would like:

Are you male? If so, then I don’t think that’s unnatural. The way it looks ont he pictured I am assuming is trimmed and it looks pretty normal for a male arm.
I’ve seen guys with much, much worse—long, dark coarse hairs growing all over including entire back hand and fingers.

I concur. Looks like a completely normal male arm.

I do trim my hair, so it is much shorter than it should be. I actually have hair on my hands, but shave them (weird? I think so, oh well)…In any case, I still would like to lighten them up so, again, any more suggestions would be useful.

LA girl, is my hair dark enough for laser? As I said, the hair is a mix of red and brown, so I know that the red would make it difficult. I would be fine with a simple reduction in the hair. Thanks!

could be dark enough, hard to say. i would only try alex laser if you’re going to try. what do you mean by “lighten”? do you mean just making it less dense?

What I mean is, I would like to make it more “blonde” I guess…and I thought peroxide might be the way, but I am afraid that it might turn it orange…I am not sure.

Bleaching your arms doesn’t mean you have to platinum blond hair all over your arm. You can choose a hair bleach that is a couple shades darker. Clairol has a million shades of color if you want to try that route.

If you don’t do a test spot with hydrogen peroxide then you’ll never know if your hair will turn orange.

I would consider waxing. Continued waxing can reduce the density of the hair and they can usually do your hands at the same time so you don’t have to shave them.
