Light Sheer Luminus

I have been offered a great deal for treatment with the Light Sheer Luminus. I have read that this machine is the Gold Standard in laser hair removal. They recommend six treatments every eight weeks.

Previously, I was treated 7 times with the Soprano XL, and all the hair grew back. If the Light Sheer Luminus is a diode like the soprano xl, will I get the same poor results?

One laser hair removal clinic told me that permanent hair reduction doesn’t exist. Is this true?

I am Caucasian, light skin, dark brown hair (skin type 3)

Eight weeks is fine for trunk hair. For legs, 12-16 weeks is usually recommended here.

No, LightSheer is a much better laser.

No, not true.

Your best bet would be an Alexandrite laser. Try looking for GentleLase, GentleMax or Cynosure’s Alexandrite lasers.

I was just searching for answers on the LightSheer Duet by Lumenis. i’ve been treated with Candela’s GentleLASE with pretty good results, but I can’t keep paying the price tag of the clinic and have a potential good deal on the LightSheer, not sure if my results would be similar for underarms/bikini with this laser…

Thanks for posting both of you!

Striggins, You can achieve perm reduction. But it’s most likely going to take double what they tell you, 4 to 6 treatments is more like 8 to 12.

I get why they tell you the low end to get you to commit. It is a huge commitment, 2 to 3 years, but well worth it in the end.

10 treatments on my hands and 95% gone, left are light fine tiny hairs you can’t even see.

6 treatments on my arms, 50-60% gone.

Thats 2 years after my last treatment in those area’s with really no noticeable % of growth.

Candala Gentlelase is the “gold standard” for hair removal if you ask me…

It has a cooling spray, don’t confuse this as to lesson the pain, but to protect damaging your skin. I’ve never been burned with this laser. I’m a type III and I’ve been hit with 18j and took it like a baby ;o)

Hope this helps
