I’ve now had multiple hematoma events following injections for the donor flap with genital electrolysis. Any idea where to find access to this service? What the real likelihood of a large genital hematoma is without injections? or reasons this service may be difficult to find? I’m being told that there is only 1 place in CA that will still do these types of injections. What say the experts? I have photos, but they are likely to be considered graphic. Can PM for more details.
Where did you receive these injections that caused hematomas? We had a post in the past of someone discussing receiving local lidocaine injections from an electrology provider in Chicago and they were satisfied with services.
I am in the PNW. Should I name providers here? Sorry, new to the threads.
Just trying to clarify your question, are you asking what the likelihood of getting a hematoma is if you didn’t have lidocaine injections?
Or asking what the likelihood of a hematoma is, if you receive injections from a different clinic?
I only know of two clinics in Oregon and Washington that provide lidocaine injections for electrolysis.
Have you tried treatment without injections? With numbing cream a lot of our clients are able to manage the pain or at least tolerate treatment.
Thank You! and to clarify: I wonder what the likelihood of a significant hematoma (let’s say over 150cc) developing in the absence of lidocaine injections. Is it even possible to have a result like this in the absence of lidocaine injections? At least one physician seemed to imply that it could.
Also, I do wonder why there are so few clinics that perform the injections. Has any similar event ever ocurred?
If you know two clinics in WA and OR that provide injections, you probably know of at least one person who has experienced this issue twice, but I only know of one clinic currently offering the service in WA and OR. Which is the other?
I saw the post about the location in the midwest, but wasn’t sure if they were still performing the injections. I have an appointment coming soon, and need electrolysis to proceed in my surgical path, but am very concerned about a potential 3rd event.
If it were possible for me to do this with injections, I most certainly would choose that option, even with the previous issues, because I received several of these injections over the last couple of years and I believe they were truly helpful in me being able to tolerate the electrolysis, and further believe the events were related to the injections and could not possibly have resulted from an electrolysis needle, and that over 4 providers, at least half were able to perform the injections without issue.
I don’t believe the hematoma was caused by electrolysis. I’ve never seen something like that occur in my 6+ year career. Small minor bruises I’ve seen due to a missed insertion but nothing like the size of hematoma you’ve described.
Now I do have experience personally with bruising when I’ve received injections like filler/botox. I’m wondering if you possibly are on any blood thinners (prescription or natural - garlic and fish oil can thin blood) or if the person providing the injections has a poor technique?
One reason why not many clinics offer injections is because they require a doctor or nurse to be on staff or at least working in the same building under their own business license. This doesn’t typically make sense financially for most electrolysis businesses. There also needs to be extra precautions taken when a client is using numbing injections because some injections can cause potential heart rhythm problems and the injections also increase fluid to the treatment area which means electrologists need to adjust settings on their machines to compensate.
I totally understand that perspective and I hope you find a solution
We do injection for freezing all the time in our 9 locations. We can be found at jadeclinics.com. We also teach this.
How many hours of training do you recommend before performing the procedure?
