LHR - Perineum/Anus hair removal

Hey, I have had LHR done on my entire legs and buttocks area. I would like to have the hair removed from my perineum and anus area but I have some concerns.

I go to a very reputable laser hair clinic and the tech I have is very experienced. I asked him to treat this area at my last appointment and he said he would rather not. He said he has worked on that area before but only on people where it was necessary because they were afflicted by some sort of skin/hair problem in that area. I am trying to understand why he was so hesitant to work on this area, I probably should have asked. Are there additional risks in having this particular area treated? I understand that this area is somewhat different - treating around a mucus membrane and treating the perineum which is highly sensitive. Are there any precautions that must be taken like lowering the settings, etc? If I find another tech willing to do this area should I be concerned about causing any kind of permanent damage? I worry that treatment in this area could cause the perineum to become more pronounced or there could be changes to the skin/anatomy.

If there are any males in particular that have had this area treated, sharing your experience would be very helpful. Please feel free to respond to this thread or PM me. Thanks for taking the time to read.

Does the clinic offer Brazilians to women? (Brazilians go from front to tailbone, unlike a Full Bikini which only does the front).

There is a greater risk of a burn simply because the pigment in this area tends to be varied, and often darker than general. So a lower setting, possibly much lower, would indeed be called for.

I have to say it was the most painful treatment I’ve ever had – I felt as if I were bleeding, though I was not – it was an illusion created by fear and moisturizer.

On the plus side, one treatment gave me a 50% reduction, and so though I am not inclined to do it again to try for 100% (because I was satisfied with a reduction), it was not a waste of time.

I don’t see why the clinic would decline to it, unless the clinician is concerned about liability from burns, or doesn’t want to develop a clientel of men’s butts.

I had this area treated and it was fine. It all depends on how comfortable the technician is with personal areas.

Thanks for the replies. My only concern is having the perineum raphe become more pronounced or structural changes to that or the anus. If anyone could explain why this isnt possible it would be very helpful.

If there is anyone else that has had this area treated it would be helpful to hear from you.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I appreciate all your help

You keep mentionining this and I don’t know where you got that it’s even a remote possibility. It’s not. Laser doesn’t affect anything besides the dark pigment, which is the hair.
