LHR in Sydney Aus

Hello all,

From searching the forums, I have only noticed two posters from Sydney and both seemed to use LaserCare in Artarmon.

Unfortunately the prices at this clinic are extremely expensive, over 50% high than a number of other clinics. And after a consultation I noticed no justification for this extra cost.

Surfing some local websites and Sydney-based forums seem to rate City Laser (downtown) as one of the top 2 clinics in town. Laser Clinics Australia (multiple locations) has fewer reviews but is newer and is slightly cheaper than City Laser.

Does anybody have any experience with either of these, or any other Sydney clinics which use the GentleLase system?

Thanks

What lasers do these clinics use? What is your skin type? What settings were used on you previously and with what laser? What settings do these clinics want to use? All these things are important in comparing clinics. If you can find someone experienced using a good machine at good settings for a better price, of course you should take it.

I have heard that there is someone in Drummoyne who does gentlelase and is reasonably priced. I hope this helps a little, sorry I have no details

thanks - I’ve already started at City Laser downtown

If anybody knows of a clinic in Sydney that uses the Soprano XL machine, please let me know. So far I have only found Wax Factor, and they are both expensive and limited in the areas that they treat.
Prefence is for downtown/CBD or North Shore (North Sydney or Chatswood area)
Thanks

Are you going to do a comparison to GentleLASE? It sounds from your other posts like you were going with GentleLASE. Keep in mind that the Soprano is a diode, so GentleLASE is more powerful as it’s an alex.

Yes - I’ve got the arms/chest/abs done with GentleLase. I’m going to try a test patch with Soprano and might get the legs/butt/braz done with it and see which one I respond better to - then go with that system. Plus - I’m very interested in finding a way to reduce the pain involved in the procedure.

Okay - some feedback on clinics in Sydney for anyone else down here that decides to search around (please note that all of these clinics use the GentleLase alexandrite machine, except for WaxFactor).

LaserCare (Artarmon) - was the only clinic I saw reviewed on this forum, so booked a consultation. They refused to give their price list via email or website (one of the only clinics to do so), so I had to go out to Artamon. Nice clinic, but their prices are very high, so I ruled them out (I didn’t see anything special to justify the cost).

City Laser (CBD) - Was highly reviewed in the Vogue Australia online forum. I have had 3 appointments there (arms, chest, stomach, lower back, buttocks, male brazillian). Very nice clinic. Only the male brazillian is a set price, everything else is at $70/5 minutes, with general estimates for treatment times of various areas. Most of it was accurate (except my arms - I caused the treatment to go slow, and it cost $210 more than expected. You also have to watch out if your technician decides to get chatty with the clock running). Decent prices, but make sure to keep an eye on the stopclock and hold them to their quoted discounts (5 minutes off for every 35 spent). Technician was very nice, and I was set at ease about getting buttocks and brazillian done.

Laser Clinics Australia (Chatswood) - Prices here are great, which made me a bit skeptical. It’s a new clinic location (they are a chain). I booked for full legs (single treatment is half the price of CityLaser and 1/3 the price of LaserCare). Technician was great. Totally puts you at ease, goes at a pace you are comfortable with, and very experienced. Excellent service. I decided to pre-pay for a discounted package of 4 treatments at $300 AUD per treatment (that’s about $240 USD for full legs). I intend to transfer more of my treatments from CityLaser to this clinic (the downside being that the closest one to me is Chatswood, which is still a ways away - CityLaser is a much more convenient location). One more note - they have a brand of cream called Laser Aid by Skinstitute for $25. I tried it - I actually found pure Aloe Vera gel or Protec E Cream to be better (and much cheaper), so I don’t recommend buying it.

WaxFactor (Chatswood) - the only place in Sydney that I found which uses the Soprano XL. I have a different post about this machine/clinic outlining my experience, so I won’t go into it here.

I give a thumbs up to CityLaser, but definately recommend Laser Clinics Australia. I’ve forgot my technician’s name, but I’ll report back with it next time because she was awesome. And the prices are amazing.

What machines do the first 3 clinics use? All GentleLASE?
