Okay - some feedback on clinics in Sydney for anyone else down here that decides to search around (please note that all of these clinics use the GentleLase alexandrite machine, except for WaxFactor).
LaserCare (Artarmon) - was the only clinic I saw reviewed on this forum, so booked a consultation. They refused to give their price list via email or website (one of the only clinics to do so), so I had to go out to Artamon. Nice clinic, but their prices are very high, so I ruled them out (I didn’t see anything special to justify the cost).
City Laser (CBD) - Was highly reviewed in the Vogue Australia online forum. I have had 3 appointments there (arms, chest, stomach, lower back, buttocks, male brazillian). Very nice clinic. Only the male brazillian is a set price, everything else is at $70/5 minutes, with general estimates for treatment times of various areas. Most of it was accurate (except my arms - I caused the treatment to go slow, and it cost $210 more than expected. You also have to watch out if your technician decides to get chatty with the clock running). Decent prices, but make sure to keep an eye on the stopclock and hold them to their quoted discounts (5 minutes off for every 35 spent). Technician was very nice, and I was set at ease about getting buttocks and brazillian done.
Laser Clinics Australia (Chatswood) - Prices here are great, which made me a bit skeptical. It’s a new clinic location (they are a chain). I booked for full legs (single treatment is half the price of CityLaser and 1/3 the price of LaserCare). Technician was great. Totally puts you at ease, goes at a pace you are comfortable with, and very experienced. Excellent service. I decided to pre-pay for a discounted package of 4 treatments at $300 AUD per treatment (that’s about $240 USD for full legs). I intend to transfer more of my treatments from CityLaser to this clinic (the downside being that the closest one to me is Chatswood, which is still a ways away - CityLaser is a much more convenient location). One more note - they have a brand of cream called Laser Aid by Skinstitute for $25. I tried it - I actually found pure Aloe Vera gel or Protec E Cream to be better (and much cheaper), so I don’t recommend buying it.
WaxFactor (Chatswood) - the only place in Sydney that I found which uses the Soprano XL. I have a different post about this machine/clinic outlining my experience, so I won’t go into it here.
I give a thumbs up to CityLaser, but definately recommend Laser Clinics Australia. I’ve forgot my technician’s name, but I’ll report back with it next time because she was awesome. And the prices are amazing.
