Length of hair?

I’m going to be getting my 3rd treatment of IPL (harmony laser) done next week.
I’m getting it done on my chest/shoulders but eventually want to get it all over (excluding back no hair there).

But basically, the first treatment didn’t work well, the settings were too low.
However, the doctor put it to the highest for my chest and it’s much better. However, I still feel like he’s missing spots. Some of the hair didn’t shed at all and I know he missed areas.
Basically would it be better for me to have a little bit of stubble so he can see were to laser or should I have it as short as possible ie no hair visible.

I’m going to make a consultation before my next appointment to clear things up but I don’t want to sound like im telling him how to do his job.
Advice?

cheers

Hiya highlyevolved,

There’s nothing worng with having a tiny bit of stubble above the skin so that the dcotor can see the areas. The harmony IPL itself is not a bad one either if your skin type and hair colour is good.

When having a review or consultation with the doctor, just mention that he’s missed patches and anything else that’s bothering you. We pay good money for these treatments so why should we have to put up with spots that they’ve missed. Speak to him politley and talk to him about it.

Also what skin type and hair colour are you trying to treat? Where are you located? There maybe someone in your area using a laser which would get you better results, such as the GentleLASE or the GentleYAG (depending on your skin type).

Benji

It pays to have a day or two’s worth of stubble specifically for this - to make sure they see exactly where to treat.

However, regardless, if a lot of hair didn’t shed after 3 weeks, you should ask for a free touchup.
