Legs Vs. Arms - mixed results - frustration

Hi,

I got (so far) 8 full LHR sessions on my arms and 5 on my legs.

I did want to have just a decent hair “reduction” on legs whereas a “full clearance” on arms… well, It seems I am getting the opposite results, meaning I still have some hair re-grow (~25%) in arms and a very few-to-nothing hair on legs.

My struggle is that in order to get full smooth arms I am undertaking session after session after session without knowing exactly where is the cross-over-point (point in which further sessions does not add extra-results). I was under the impression that 8 would be more that enough without the need of jumping into electrolysis. I am frustrated due this fact; furthermore I’m starting to believe I’m developing a sort of addition to LHR sessions.

On the flip side, I went way too far on legs and now from my knees down a got absolutely no hair, and after 5 months (after my 5th session) I am afraid this will be like this permanently. The reason I undertook some many session on legs (5) is because I was not getting an even reduction on my upper legs. I still have some hair on upper legs which is giving me an unnatural over-all look but I am not that worry as I don’t wear short-pants very often.

….so my questions:

Is this difference of results between legs and arms normal (from the anatomic standpoint when it comes to LHR) or it comes from the fact one need different machine/settings for treating arms and legs independently?.. for the records, my practitioner does not neither change the machine nor the settings whatsoever while treat my arms and then legs. She uses a high settings though.

Thighs appear to be less responsive than lower legs to LASER, so your case sounds normal. Lower legs are a great place to get LASER as you have found out. Be glad about that!

If the hair on your arms is too thin and too light at this point, then you need to switch over to electrolysis. Anoatomical differences between the arms and the legs is of no concern. Hair structure and hair color dictates everything and results are better on coarse, dense, dark hair. When you reach the point of diminishing returns with LASER, just call it a day and switch over to an electrologist that uses the faster forms of thermolysis. Do sessions that are long enough to get you cleared up front. That means finding an electrologist that will work on you for longer than an hour. Fifteen minute sessions are not the way you want to tackle the remaining hair. You won’t need longer sessions for too long. It is actually very simple to sweep up after LASER with electrolysis and is not as costly as you think.

I also had to have several more sessions on my legs than my arms while using a diode Lightsheer. The leg follicles might just be deeper, but I’m sure everyone is different.

The difference is usually due to the type of hair. Your hair is probably finer on your arms and is likely too fine now for more treatments to produce any more results. If you’re not seeing a difference between treatment 6 and 8, you need to switch to electrolysis.
