LDM15K From Biotechnique

Is this new laser any good?

Here is what I got from an email from customer support.

Quote

"Hello,

The hand piece has three 5 watt diodes at 808nm. The brand is Sony.
Total peak wattage is 15 cw. It is not a pumped laser or any array.
The 5 watt diodes are very expensive, $600 each, and are state of the
art."

I see there was a scam going around about the Centre Biotechnique Avance.

Is this still a scam or they now have good products?

home laser products don’t work. otherwise, we’d all be using them and not spending thousands of dollars on professional treatments by $50k+ machines.

Why don’t they work? I am currently getting the Polaris WR to treat hair removal and skin rejuvination. It works ok but hair stiill comes back and it does not remove white or grey hair not even the Professional Polaris or Lightsheer can do that!!

From the specs of this laser I don’t see why it would not work.

It uses a very powerfull output 15 watts. 180j/cm2. That will burn you skin severly at 180j/cm2.

THe polaris nor the Lumenis will put out more than 50j/cm2 but the spot size I will admit is large on the medical lasers.

WHo else here has tried CBA’s the newer products?

The LDM15K is actually a homeuse/commerical oriented product and nothing like the DMD series lasers of the past.

I could make my own personal home hair removal laser myslef. I have the knowledge to do so. They are just Diode Arrays in those fancy Medical lasers. Those lasers are made to lase every single day with 100’s and 100’s of shots, therefore there are truly commerical and FDA approved, etc., and trust me way way overpriced.

I have studied the inner workings of those medical lasers and they are not much differnt from the LDM15K.

JUst the difference of one being labelled Medical and FDA vs home user and non medical.

I would build one but it woudl probably cost me around $2000 or a bit more. WIth the CBA ok its almost double that price but I get a 3 year warranty through them.

I don’t think it would hurt to try it out since my American Express credit card will back me up.

I am however concerned about why Medicam dropped their contracts.

Here is the link that is holdin gme back from purchaing one.

I wish there was a forum where people have bought the newer products that could comment on them.

There old stuff was not powerfull enough to do the job. There new LDM15K will probably perform like a Commerical Medical Laser or nearly as good.

you should run a search on here to read others’ experiences. there are no good ones so far…still waiting. maybe if you try it, you can report back.

also, what do you mean by “it works, but hair still comes back”??? wouldn’t it mean it’s not working if the hair comes back if you’re looking for permanent hair removal? or have you only had a few treatments?

I have had two years of treatment a total of 12 , 6 each year costing me about $2000. The hair comes back a lot slower and much thinner.

But it eventually comes back no matter what method is used.

oh, you mean it came back with professional treatments?

Yes.

The Biotechnique newer machiens look liek they might work.

I found someone who bought one for his wife on the http://www.cosmeticenhancementsforum.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=3

FOrum.

He sais nothing but good things about it but the waxing part not sure of.

Check out that thread see what you think. I private messaged himn to see how its going now.

yes, i’m on that forum and have followed that story as well. my main concern is that that method is something that’s been done with Softlight “laser” in 1998, the first laser on the market. It was supposed to work with the same principle (waxing and carbon solution applied beforehand) and was proven to be a ineffective 2 years later, with the company sued and going out of business. Read up on Softlight. It claimed to work in a similar matter, but was proven through several studies to only delay hair growth for up to 6 months:

I bought a DMD 2000 laser for hair removal new on eBay. It makes a neat red dot like a pointer and a pulsing white light, however, it does nothing. You can hold it in one spot for an hour and feel nothing. Is this junk or am I doing something wrong?

it’s useless

Curious. How much did you pay for it?

I’ve been scammed by the same company I need more cases to go to the authorities. My email address is funkybunch14@comcast.net

One thing you can do as well is contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)?

Anyone can register a complaint and if they see a pattern of complaints about a certain product of company, then that may raise their bunny ears to listen closer. It’s easy to register a cmplaint.

Be careful about talking about others. They can sue you for not knowing what you are talking about. They can claim they told you “results vary with each patient as no two are alike” and you ruined their business.

So, a consumer should be afraid of the big, bad lawyers and not be honest about a product or service that they paid for and got nothing in return? There are too many lawyers running loose in this world and not enough common sense (hiccup  ).

This group of crooks has a LONG record of scamming and blatant rip off tactics. Some of these have been documented on HairTell in the past. One consumer marked his unit and returned it with their “Upgrade Offer” (They admitt that the unit they sent did not work, but say it was because of a problem with the construction of the unit, not the general design of the product. They then offer to send you another unit that actually works if you give them ANOTHER $1,000 for the more expensive parts used in the newer units) This person got the “new unit” and could prove that they had sent him back the same one he sent them, and the only change they had made was replacing the LD#XXXX sticker to a higher number. The unit had not been opened, No new parts were installed, and they just took his money.

They will do this same scam again and again if you keep sending them money for the Upgraded Units.

I set myself up for that so called lease to own plan they had going. I put down $1,378 which was the percentage a person needed to put down the unit was something like $4,000 at the time I received the piece of junk.

Not a bad return on investment for a $20 Science Kit from Radio Shack, eh? :o

I hear you, it’s time they get cornered and shutdown!

If they used the mails to advertise, ship, or promote their product in any way you should notify the U.S.Postal Authorities. That is mail FRAUD and the Govt. will get them at no cost to you. Using the mails to defraud is not tolerated. If they use women’s magazines the publisher wants to know. Publishers assume all ads are truthful because the publisher can not test all items advertised.

Companies that know this will not use the mails. Every thing is by a private carrier like UPS or FEDEX
