I spend as much time as possible learning from this forum . Thank you all for being here! It is of such great value. Of course now i daydream about meeting Mr. Bono and even going into this fascinating trade!
I still have so many questions & i hope it’s alright to post them here without being too overwhelming. Thank you for your patience with my process, made much more challenging by living where there is access to few professionals.
Some good news ,finally, maybe, hopefully??? I have found another (and the last hope ) in my town who does electrolysis . She uses a machine called a proteaus 2000 . I know from searches here it is an old machine. I went for a consultation and was surprised to find the hair did seem to slide out with quite a bit less pain than my other experince here with the long term plucker who called herself an electrolysist who would not divulge the name of her machine though I paid her for years of work and thought we were friends!! But alas , that is another story ,on another thread , and ive let all that go and moved on now! It was even less painful than my recent out of town treatments on the sequenteum vmc. Hopefully electro is not the same as laser where pain is a sign that it might work Better? I was also very pleased that she seemed open , including the possibility of trying the Laurier probes if I was to order them ! I will bring her the info about them from here for my first appoint this weeK QUESTIONS…Can I order these probes for her to try or are they only available to pros? Is it safe to try a new instrument on my face if she has never used them before? Do they handle similiar enough that i am safe to try with her? Can they be used safely with her old machine? What is the right size of probe for doing the face (thin, fine hair ) ?
The face hair is all very fine, that closest to my sideburns ,stache area is brown and the other hair on my face is lighter blonde hair but there seems to be alot . This new electrolysist I saw suggested it may be an idea to try laser first and then see her afterwords. She doesnt do laser so it was not as sales job but she said she had seen successful results on the face. All that i read here says it doesnt work on fine hair and there is that risk of actually increasing it. Would it be of any value to try using laser on the brown sideburn hair? If i do try it on the darker sideburn area and it does shed, does that indicate that the laser can find and target this hair with some chance to success?
Finally ,and to be completely honest ,there is another aspect weighing my much in my thoughts and i would love honest feedback. It is that really I have SO MUCH fine blonde hair on my face and such sensitivity to hyperpigmentation that I really wonder if it is even realistic to do this much work on clearing my face. It will be alot of work just to do the sideburns so there will still be a need to shave the other areas anyways. And I’m figuring because of the amount that I’ll probably still need to use a rotary razor and shave for a long time to come, so maybe I should just accept that and in the consideration of kindness to the skin just treat the ENTIRE area that way and let go of the idea of electro clearing. If i have to shave anyways maybe just accept it, do the whole area and not subject my skin on my face to the risk of work that may not be done very well and may result in injury or a lot of hyperpigmentation ?! I may not feel this way if i had access to some of the incredible pros i see on this forum but without them it is just such a high risk.
Right now i especially have a concern with the summer season coming and that putting on all that goopy sunscreen (which my skin seems to hate) to try to avoid hyperpigmenting from light after electro, especially so soonafter treatments. I cant avoid the light but such products on my skin may affect the healing of the now more inflamed, electro treated areas. I had my out of town treatments some weeks ago and my skin in that area was coved in tiny pin point brown scabs most of which have gone. There are also now a few red raised bumps which may be ingrown hairs . The entire area is still affected and i cant help but be concerned that there may be permanent pigment spots in much of the area:( though of course i will be patient ,treat my skin as best i can, avoid the sun and hope for the best. For most of my lfe have conciously chosen ,with great results, natural skin care for my dry ,challenged skin , and now I am struggling with weather all of this is just too rough on my face skin about what is best to do in my particular circumstances.
Thanks for listening, and for your wise input!!
