Lasering when you're young

Hi, I’m 21 years old boy, and have been doing laser with GentleLASE PRO a few times now…now the main reason I started doing it was to reduce the thickness of my lower body hairs, and I can say after four sessions now, I’m really happy with the result…I know that due to heredity, I’ll be hairy in 2-3 years in my upper body like how my lower body was! Right now, it’s not hairy at all, but I can see thick hairs are starting to grow!
Now, my question is, if I do treatment on my upper body right now, will this only kills the existing hairs on my upper body, or it will prevent “the future” thick hairs to grow as well?(or make them look thinner)
I am going to ask the same question from the laser clinic that I’ve been going, no judgment but I guess they’ll probably tell me it will prevent them to grow for sure, to keep me coming!
thanks for the help guys!

Aaron , laser experts are very rarely on this forum, and certainly none that can give you the definitive answer to your question. Laser as yet doesn’t have long term statistics so we are the guinea pigs . There are some reports of hair returning many years post laser so who knows what is or is not being killed.

Hmmm, too bad! how about this…some say that doing laser on areas that doesn’t have that much hair, may invoke the skin to produce more hair?! is that true?!
(Haha yeah about being guinea pigs! I was thinking, what if lasering body would really damage skin or something like that in long term!! sounds like a trouble! plus it’s addictive too!)

Danika, laser hair removal has been around for 20 some years now. I don’t know where you’re getting that information from. The question above is straightforward and is easily answered. Laser (or electrolysis) can only remove the hair that’s currently present. It doesn’t prevent new hair from growing later as it doesn’t impact hormones in any way. All it does is heat up the hair follicles and disabled them with heat.
